About the role
We are looking for a highly technical Tracking Implementation Engineer to architect, automate and scale our tracking and event instrumentation infrastructure. This role is suited for an engineer-minded individual who enjoys solving complex data collection challenges, building automation workflows, and designing efficient tagging architectures.
You will work autonomously, owning the full lifecycle of tracking solutions—from planning to implementation, testing, optimising and maintaining them within a fast-moving, agile environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement robust tagging frameworks using GTM and comparable enterprise tag management systems.
- Build complex event logic and custom tracking behaviours using JavaScript, data layers, and dynamic web instrumentation techniques.
- Develop automated deployment frameworks, scripts, or workflows to streamline tagging rollout and reduce manual effort.
- Integrate analytics tools including GA4 or similar measurement platforms, ensuring clean, structured and validated event streams.
- Work closely with engineering teams to design and enforce scalable data-layer specifications.
- Implement monitoring systems and diagnostic checks to proactively detect anomalies in data collection.
- Collaborate in agile sprints, delivering high-quality implementations under tight timelines with self-direction and ownership.
- Use of LLMs to help with ideation, efficiency and automation is also required
Requirements:
- 3–6 years’ experience in analytics engineering, tagging automation or technical digital analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, browser APIs, DOM manipulation, and event-driven programming.
- Expertise with tag management systems (GTM or equivalents) and experience integrating multiple analytics, advertising and UX tracking tools.
- Experience with automation or scripting—examples include:
- GTM API usage
- Node/Python scripting for deployment workflows
- Automation or QA tools used for tracking validation
- Familiarity with broader analytics technologies (server-side tagging, CDPs, consent frameworks, A/B test data ingestion, etc.)
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex tracking challenges independently.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, agile delivery environment.
