The Challenge
The world of software development is undergoing a dramatic transformation. The rise of AI and low-code platforms is rapidly reshaping the day-to-day work of developers, shifting the focus from manual coding to a greater emphasis on productivity and strategic problem-solving. This shift presents a unique opportunity to redefine what it means to be a software engineer.
We're looking for students to help us explore this new landscape. Your research will help us understand the practical implications of these technologies and how they can be leveraged to deliver greater value to our customers.
Proper area of education
Bachelor or Master in Software Engineering, Business Administration or any other relevant field
Possible research directions
We're open to exploring a range of topics. You will collaborate with our team to define the final research question based on your interests and our business needs. Some potential areas include:
- Human–AI Collaboration
Investigate how developers can collaborate effectively with AI-powered tools in areas such as prototyping, code generation, refactoring and quality assurance. - Low-Code Integration
Explore strategies for adopting and integrating low-code solutions into enterprise systems, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term value. - Architecture in the Age of AI and Low-Code
Examine how these technologies influence software architecture. What new patterns, design principles, or trade-offs emerge when blending AI-driven components and low-code platforms with traditional systems? - Measuring Impact
Develop a framework to measure the business impact of AI and low-code adoption, from productivity gains to product quality improvements. - Product Quality Assurance
Assess how AI can help monitor, visualize and improve software product quality across the development lifecycle. - Data Quality Management
Research how AI can detect gaps, predict issues, and automatically correct inconsistencies in master data.
