Key Accountabilities:
This is how you will bring the purpose of your role to life:
· Act as the overarching technical product owner within the Group, partner with Engineering and collaborate with users, stakeholders and product owners across Telstra to align your technical capability vision with the Group and Telstra’s strategic priorities, so that it drives and continually improves modular, reusable technical capabilities and components.
· Actively manage the end-to-end development, delivery, execution, integration requirements and lifecycle management and optimisation of technology products and services to enable risks, issues, dependencies, timeline and costs to be managed.
· Collaborate with the team, stakeholders and mission product owners to discover usability concerns and functional gaps and generating insights that uncover feature enhancement solutions.
· Lead the definition, management and scheduling of work to manage the operational lifecycle of the technical capability and applications, including support, maintenance and capacity planning.
· Partner with engineering in the deployment and execution of operational and business acceptance activity, including managing post-deployment issues from root cause analysis through to resolution.
· Lead the identification and management of unit cost reduction opportunities, including managing any technology vendors’ design, development, delivery and operation, to continuously improve productivity and cost to operate.
· Collaborate to shape and influence a culture of transparency by producing data to demonstrate and track delivery achievements and concerns, operational performance and health, and providing input to the wider team for capability performance, growth and learning.
· Develop and champion business cases and funding bids to enable the team to maintain operational performance and deliver their work, and ensure the team operates within its budget constraints.
· Foster a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed within the team and assist the team to implement effective fit for purpose development and operational practices.
· Guide, mentor, and provide direction of capability team budgets, security, resilience, compliance (e.g.
MOT’s), performance, unit cost optimization, risks, and capacity in your capability or domain, both now and over multi-year horizons, ensuring alignment with Telstra's strategic priorities.
· Foster a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed by empowering and coaching the team to implement effective fit-for-purpose development and operational practices.
· Establish a clear mission purpose, and objectives aligned with the overall Telstra strategy and the Telstra Reference Architecture Model (TRAM).
· Ensure our technology and processes are designed, built, and maintained to anticipate, prevent, detect, withstand, respond, and recover from all events securely, reliably, and expediently.
· Collaborate with Chapter Areas and Chapter leads to agree on resource management, allocation, ensuring optimal staffing within the given budget.
· Management of RICOM Risks. Lead in mitigating and removing business and operational impediments, risk, and issue management for the mission. (GO retains risk accountability).
· Ensure all Change Management processes are adhered to within the mission. Serve as the point of aggregation for MIM for critical incidents – Sev1 and Sev2 and operational performance for the portfolio.
· Foster a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the portfolio by empowering and coaching the capability Product Owners.
Essential Skills:
Lead architecture and lifecycle maintenance of carrier grade network applications and systems.
Applications including Network Inventory systems.
Minimum 15 years of overall experience
Big data analysis.
Inventory Metadata modelling and development.
Experience working with Graph DB (neo4j)
Proficient with the TM Forum API specifications; TMF-633, 634, 638 & 639 standards and specifications.
Experience establishing and working with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data pipelines
Experience working with data transformation tools and algorithms.
Experience with Database design and concepts for scaling inventory solutions
Analysis based data model optimization.
Knowledge of Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2, Layer-3 network technologies and data model exposure.
Experience working with carrier-grade Inventory solutions and migrations
Data modelling
Workflow automation process development
Proficient with REST API development (Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience)
Release management knowledge.
Ability to articulate complex technical and business problems, requirements, constraints, and strategy to a range of audiences.
Experience working Scrum agile methodology
Agile, DevOps, Lean, Human Centred Design
Jira, Confluence
Advanced oral and written communication skills that can adapt to different teams, individuals, and personality types as well as able to author, review and evaluate technical and non-technical documentation.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Technology / Telecommunications
Awarenes of Docker.
Proficient in microservices design and development
Proficient with TMF compliant API design & development (Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience)
gRPC event triggered automation development.
Experience working with React framework
Workflow automation process development
Hands-on experience in developing Workflow automation capabilities.
Database experience with NoSQL or RDBMS and proficiency writing complex SQL queries.
Awareness of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bamboo, GIT (BitBucket), CodePipeline, etc.
Highly desirable skills:
Experience in React.js or Angular.js
Advanced programming logic
Experience in Network management tools and systems
Scripting skills in Python, Java or other programming language.
Software development background from Node.js or Python development
Scripting and automation using programming languages such as Python and tools such as Ansible.
Exposure to Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
Experience in Network Orchestration, Network management tools and systems
Ability to create technology evolution roadmaps and long-term strategies.
Experience in integrating Network infrastructure and network applications into OSS and BSS systems.
