The Client Relationship Executive (CRE) is a strategic growth catalyst responsible for generating net new opportunities for the firm within their designated purview. More than 80% of these opportunities are shaped before they go to market—through strategic insight, client education, and proactive engagement.
Opportunity Shaping & Market Influence
- Identify and shape opportunities before they are publicly available by advising on bid architecture and educating clients on cooperative and sole-source procurement pathways.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients expedite outcomes through strategic contracting avenues.
- Brand & Partner Engagement
- Represent the Guidehouse brand in the field, coordinating with key teaming partners such as Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box, AWS, and others.
- Promote the full spectrum of Guidehouse capabilities to clients and partners.
Client & Partner Relationship Building
- Actively engage in the field through coffee meetings, lunches, memberships, and co-sponsored events.
- Target 2–3 in-person connections per week to position Guidehouse as a thought leader and strategic partner—not just a vendor.
Network Leverage & Intelligence Gathering
- Utilize a robust network of client and personal contacts to schedule meetings, expand conversations, and provide actionable insights on active pursuits.
- Act as a channel for market intelligence and internal coordination.
Market Monitoring & Trend Analysis
- Operate as a “satellite” to monitor market sentiment and emerging trends, especially in digital investment areas such as asset management, grants, contract management, and call centers/311.
- Deliver real-time insights to keep Guidehouse ahead of the curve.
Internal Collaboration & Pursuit Support
- Act as a liaison between traditional Guidehouse teams and digital practices.
- Provide high-level subject matter expertise and strategic input on pursuits.
- Translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives for clients.
- Must have a minimum of SEVEN (7) years of professional services sales experience within the SLG consulting industry.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proven experience in business development, client engagement, or strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to close high-value contracts and influence pre-market opportunities.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Deep network of industry and client contacts.
- Work cross-functionally and represent a broad portfolio of capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with senior SLG management and Guidehouse teams, showcasing teamwork, relationship building, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to think independently while effectively working as part of a consensus-driven team with senior executive leadership.
- Deep knowledge of the SLG market, transformation drivers, supporting technologies, and leading vendors.
- Able to travel per client and organizational demands (travel up to 80%).
- Skilled in negotiating complex, strategic contracts for key opportunities.
- Post Graduate Degree.
- TEN (10) or more years' experience selling management consulting or technology solutions.
- Proven success with both capture and demand-generated selling Functional or Technical solutions in the areas described above.
