ResponsibilitiesAs a Technical Writer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have an opportunity to do the following:
- Write, rewrite and/or edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.
- Impart a wide range of knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in technical fields and related disciplines gained through wide exposure to weapons systems operations and/or test and evaluation processes and procedures.
- Confer with authors and subject matter experts to recommend edits to technical documentation to include review of content for completeness, accuracy and correctness of language use.
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
- Active SECRET clearance.
- Must be able to work under general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to technical documentation production.
- BS/BA and 5-7 years of related experience.
- Previous technical writing experience supporting NSWC DET WS or other NSWC Detachments is highly desired.
Skills Required
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Ability to work under general direction and independently develop technical documentation approaches
- Previous technical writing experience supporting NSWC DET WS or other NSWC detachments
