This is a hybrid role (4 days in the office/1 days remote).

About the Role:

We are looking for a Technical Writer with developer & AI enablement experience to join our Learning and Development organization. This role sits at the intersection of AI adoption, change management, and technical enablement — driving measurable AI fluency across our software engineering community.

At its core, this is an AI enablement and learning design role. You will lead the charge in helping engineers confidently adopt AI tools into their daily workflows, creating documentation, training programs, and enablement materials that close the gap between tool access and actual productivity gains. Alongside this primary focus, you will continue to produce foundational developer documentation that supports engineering excellence.

This role is ideal for someone with an engineering background who is passionate about organizational change, genuinely curious about how AI is transforming developer workflows, and excited to build programs that drive adoption at scale

What You Will Do:

AI Enablement & Adoption (Primary Focus)

  • Own and evolve the AI enablement strategy for engineering teams — moving from tool access to embedded, high-value daily use
  • Create tutorials, guides, prompt libraries, and reference documentation for AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, IBChat, and emerging tools)
  • Design and deliver role-specific training programs covering AI tools, prompt engineering fundamentals, and responsible AI use guidelines
  • Identify friction points and resistance patterns in AI tool adoption; develop targeted content and interventions to address them
  • Translate AI workflows and best practices into clear, actionable materials for engineers at varying experience levels
  • Build and coordinate an AI Champions Network across engineering teams to scale adoption through peer influence
  • Establish adoption metrics and dashboards to track AI utilization, measure impact, and report progress to leadership
  • Gather feedback continuously and iterate on enablement content as tools, practices, and organizational needs evolve
  • Stay current on emerging AI tools and capabilities; evaluate and recommend new solutions for engineering workflows

Technical Documentation & Knowledge Systems

  • Write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical content including API documentation, READMEs, runbooks, integration guides, and SDK references
  • Partner with software engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and discoverable
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides — including AI-assisted documentation workflows
  • Contribute to internal knowledge systems and ensure content is optimized for both human and AI retrieval (Confluence, Notion, GitHub)

Training & Enablement Programs

  • Develop deep, hands-on expertise in our systems, platforms, and AI tools — becoming the trusted go-to resource for AI-augmented development practices
  • Design structured training programs, onboarding materials, and self-serve learning paths with AI adoption embedded throughout
  • Produce instructional videos, screencasts, and walkthroughs demonstrating AI-assisted engineering workflows
  • Support and lead AI-focused tech talks, lunch-and-learns, and live training sessions in collaboration with engineering leads
  • Continuously improve learning materials based on adoption data, feedback, and evolving team needs.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Software engineering background — you have written code, understand development workflows, and can read and write code samples fluently (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience driving technology adoption, enablement, or organizational change — you understand that the hard part isn't the tool, it's changing how people work
  • Active, fluent use of AI tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in your own work — you should be a power user, not just familiar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can explain complex technical concepts clearly to any audience and translate AI capabilities into practical guidance
  • Genuine enthusiasm for how AI is reshaping software development and a bias toward action in a fast-moving environment
  • Comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and leading through influence rather than authority

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in technical writing, developer education, L&D, or change management roles
  • Familiarity with adoption metrics, dashboards, and measuring enablement impact
  • Experience building champion networks or community-driven adoption programs
  • Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, static site generators, version-controlled documentation)
  • Experience creating instructional videos, screencasts, or e-learning content
  • Background in enterprise AI tool rollouts (Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, or similar)

Why This Role Is Exciting

Research shows that 85% of employees have access to AI tools, but only 25% use them regularly. The gap between AI investment and AI value is an adoption problem — and this role exists to close it.

You will have a direct line to engineering leadership, real influence over how the company adapts to AI, and the creative freedom to build programs from the ground up. Your work will be seen, used, and measured — driving tangible productivity gains for every engineer in the organization.

The way software engineers work is changing faster than at any point in the last two decades. This role puts you at the center of that shift — not just documenting it, but leading it.
