About the job:
In this role, you will provide high-level technical support and sustaining engineering services to dedicated enterprise customer accounts to help them maximize uptime and reduce IT costs. You’ll work closely with customers, developers, and architects while also collaborating with Red Hat Enterprise Linux engineers to solve complex and challenging technical issues. You'll partner closely with development engineering teams and work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community.
What will you do:

3+ years of experience working as a support or development engineer for a Platform-as-a-Service provider or hosting service
-
5+ years of experience working with Linux or Unix operating systems
-
Experience working with hosted applications or large scale application deployments
-
Experience with containers
-
Good understanding of Linux tools with an emphasis on cURL, kernel crash analysis, strace, Wireshark, and using Git
-
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with customers, third-party vendors, and Red Hat’s associates
-
Solid troubleshooting skills and passion for problem-solving and investigation
-
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and work under pressure
-
Excellent reading and writing skills in English; fluent English language skills are preferred
-
Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred
-
Upstream involvement in open source projects, including patches submitted for upstream inclusion a plus
-
Knowledge of support systems and tools a plus
-
Development-level experience with programming languages like Go, AngularJS, Python, .NET, and C a plus
-
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification a plus
What will you bring:

3+ years of experience with Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance and a good understanding of Linux command line tools

Practical experience with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Product
-
Software development background, including experience writing patches and with scripting languages like Bash, Perl, or Python
-
Troubleshooting and debugging skills; passion for problem-solving and investigation
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision with a globally-distributed team of engineers
-
Experience installing SAP products, including SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, etc is a plus.

Ability to build documentation and customer environment assessment.

Ability to learn new technologies and follow industry trends
