Role Description
An Engineer is responsible for maintenance of Application and its Production processes. Key responsibilities of this role include support of application jobs and functionalities in Production environment, monitor and support to time critical daily and monthly processes executing, ensure SLA of the outbounds from applications, while maintaining green status of Application. Resolution and Root cause analysis for Production abends. Adhoc Business request on process executions, file transfers and other requests.

Your key responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for technical infrastructure components (i.e., databases, middleware and user interfaces).
- Ensures stability of the environment by maintaining RAG status of Production processes.
- Supports Level 1 support team by providing abend resolutions in Production environment.
- Co-ordinates with upstream and downstream applications in order to maintain SLA.
- Resolves delays in ongoing Production processes
- Performs root cause analysis for abends.
- Performs Incident and problem management by resolving priority incidents.
- Implements permanent fixes for Prod issues, by creating change requests. Performs post production validations.
- Supports Activities with respect to reporting.
- Supports year-end activities.
- Analyses, troubleshoots and resolves client/customer issues.
- Ensures all tickets meet the targets for resolution, escalation, and documentation completion.
- Takes handover from project changes and adhoc changes implemented in Production.
- Ensures that all code changes end up in Change Items (CIs).
- Identifies and implements cost reduction for ongoing Production processes.
- Provides Release Deployments on non-Production Management controlled environments.
- Supports creation of Software Product Training Materials, Software Product User Guides, and Software Product Deployment Instructions.
- Checks consistency of documents with the respective Software Product Release.
Your skills and experience
General Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) – with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient communication skills.
- Fluent in English (written/verbal).
- Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organizations.
- Excellent team player.
- Open minded.
- Keeps pace with technical innovation.
- Understands the relevant business area
- Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Production issues and abends.
- Relevant Financial Services experience.

- Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members in day to day activities.
- Perform reviews wherever applicable.
- Conducts KT sessions, workshops for team members and creates documentations wherever applicable.
Domain Specific Skills
Desirable are one or more of the following subject areas:
- Very Good knowledge of the following technologies are needed:
- Mainframe Support – Cobol, DB2, SQL
- L2 -Application maintenance
- Good to have – Unix, SAS
- Knowledge about the core processes / tools such as Jira, Service Now, Change management, Confluence, SDLC, Agile processes.
