The Role

The technical specialist will be required to carry out specific development tasks and provide technical assistance around the deployment and upgrades of InterSystems' healthcare applications and related products.

The Technical Specialist may travel to customer sites (e.g. hospitals, laboratories) and meet with implementation partners for software deployment and integration. International travel may be required.

The position is based in Montpellier - with the possibility of occasional visits to La Défense. The candidate will have to pass logic-technical tests.

Main Responsibilities

  • Cooperating with the customer or functional specialist in the preparation of enhancement requests
  • Prepare the implementation of a new project, identify customer requirements and define specifications.
  • Manage the resolution of any unresolved acceptance issues, before and after project implementation
  • Design and develop a solution for software customizations: WebServices, JavaScript, interfaces, reports, extractions, data migration, upgrades and conversions.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and performance analysis in related areas.
  • Support and test all related InterSystems utilities e.g. correction tool, print service etc.
  • Create training materials on technical topics such as custom system development and reporting.
  • Produce technical documentation such as reference documents, installation instructions, user manuals, theoretical articles and specifications.
  • Participate in on-site technical training
  • Participate in on-site technical implementations 

Requirements

  • Proficiency in software development, programming and/or applications; enjoy handling and analysing complex data and developing software solutions
  • Ability to solve difficult problems; find creative solutions; ability to identify key issues/problems through analysis and questioning; systematically confront problems; identify hidden interactions.
  • Adapting your behaviour to work effectively with different people; being at ease in professional relationships; being friendly, personable and presenting yourself well.
  • Being committed to completing tasks while respecting deadlines; balancing different tasks simultaneously without omitting any information; being demanding in terms of thoroughness, completeness and accuracy
  • Expressing ideas and taking the initiative without needing instructions or supervision; solving problems directly or alerting others to difficulties

Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge of web languages, e.g. JavaScript
  • Notions of object-oriented programming
  • Experience of SQL, database operation and analysis of large volumes of data
  • Ability to design and write technical documents.
  • Mastery of fundamental system concepts (Windows & Linux)
  • Experience in customer-focused relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver results according to specific schedules.
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver training and develop training materials.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Enjoy discovering new technologies and applications
  • Knowledge of NoSQL is an advantage
  • Notions of API development (REST or SOAP) desirable
  • Notion of versioning and deployment would be beneficial

Education

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Good level of English
  • Experience in InterSystems technology or healthcare systems would be an advantage
