NovaSource Power Services is the world’s #1-ranked solar operations and maintenance (O&M) provider and insight-driven total asset optimization partner for renewables asset owners ready to fuel smart growth. With over 20 years of operating experience and a presence on 5 continents, NovaSource has the global reach and strategic capabilities to achieve our clients’ renewables goals around the world.

NovaSource’s comprehensive approach to total asset optimization in addition to O&M services includes value engineering, performance analysis, strategic supply chain management, and advanced monitoring systems. The company operates in key global markets managing over 30GW of solar power plants. NovaSource’s expertise extends beyond solar and includes battery energy storage systems (BESS), offering a complete suite of services for the evolving renewable energy landscape.

Summary of Role

The Technical Product Owner is the single point of technical accountability for the two platforms that carry NovaSource's field and financial transactions. The role holds the configuration of record, controls the environments and the release process, and approves what reaches production. Vendors build, test and deploy under this role's direction; they do not decide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold the configuration of record for ServiceMax, Salesforce and assist with Business Central, including objects, fields, rules, posting setups, permission models and extensions.
  • Approve changes to production on either platform. Maintain the change record, including impact assessment, test evidence, business approval and rollback plan.
  • Establish and operate administration: environments, updates, user and permission administration, extension management, and the technical relationship with vendors.
  • Administer ServiceMax and Salesforce: releases, permission sets, profiles, page layouts, validation rules, and the mobile application configuration and assist with Business Central.
  • Own the interface inventory between ServiceMax, Business Central, Zoho and ADP, including the pattern, owner, monitoring and replay procedure for each.
  • Own escalation for integration failures and accept or reject root cause analysis from the support provider.
  • Operate integration monitoring and replay once delivered under the billing transformation, and hold the vendor to detection targets.
  • Control sandbox provisioning, refresh cadence, and third-party access to every environment.
  • Maintain the release calendar against the financial close calendar and field operating windows. Approve or refuse deployment timing.
  • Verify rollback for every release and bulk load before approving promotion, including the treatment of transactions created between deployment and rollback.
  • Run regression checks on affected integrations and posting paths before every production promotion.
  • Require a tested recovery plan from each vendor for both platforms and their integrations, as Tier 1 applications.
  • Schedule, witness and document restoration and failover testing, and validate results independently rather than accepting vendor assertion.
  • Review and approve vendor technical designs before build starts.
  • Accept or reject vendor deliverables against defined acceptance criteria, including test evidence and documentation.
  • Enforce sandbox-only development. Refuse and report any change made directly in production.
  • Confirm vendor documentation is complete and held in the NovaSource repository before a deliverable is accepted.
  • Serve as technical acceptance authority for billing transformation milestones, alongside business acceptance from the business platform owner.
  • Provide environments, access and platform context to the delivery vendor on the program schedule.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years administering a Salesforce-based platform, with ServiceMax or an equivalent field service application.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central configuration, or a committed path to certification within the first six months with vendor support.
  • Demonstrated release and change management practice in a production environment carrying financial transactions.
  • Understanding of integration concepts: interface design, error handling, replay, and monitorig.
  • Ability to read a vendor technical design and identify what it does not address.
  • Ability to work primarily from our Chandler, AZ Office.

Preferred

  • Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator certification.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant certification.
  • Experience holding a vendor to acceptance criteria in a managed service or project engagement.
  • Field service or asset management industry background.

What We Do

NovaSource Power Services is the new service partner for renewables asset owners - but our pedigree is as old as the solar industry itself. Our core team came together in the 1990s at solar industry pioneer, PowerLight, acquired by SunPower in 2006. We became NovaSource Power Services in 2020. Our core team has worked at the forefront of a growing industry for more than 20 years. Together, we’ve learned valuable lessons, honed our strategic viewpoint, and established best practices using the latest technologies and managing the largest solar projects in the world. As an independent, O&M-focused company, NovaSource is poised to offer even greater value in the operations and maintenance of off-grid to utility scale projects around the world.
