We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking product manager with a strong technical background to help drive our core data platform technologies to new levels of performance, scale, and usability.
As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in creating the product strategy, defining new product capabilities based on market needs, and executing the delivery of hyper-scale data management technology to enterprises running life-critical applications on InterSystems products.
You will be working closely with stakeholders from across the organization, including the kernel and database engineering teams, sales engineering, service executives and marketing, as well as key customers, ensuring everyone has a common understanding of the specific challenges we’re facing, their relative priority, and the solutions we’re implementing to address them.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and other research methods to gather feedback from users. Identify pain points and areas for improvement to enhance the overall platform experience.
- Engage with internal and external technical specialists to to identify opportunities for higher levels of performance and scalability, and prioritize them in the broader platform context.
- Collaborate with other product managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to align product development with user needs and business goals.
- Drive excitement, adoption, and satisfaction for new platform releases by ensuring that InterSystems stakeholders and partners are well-prepared with the appropriate information, collateral, and messaging.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in product management or database management are a plus.
- At least 2 years of technical experience with InterSystems technology; developing or operating applications at scale.
- Experience as a Product Manager or similar role is a plus.
- At least 5 years of technical experience in database management systems and system management.
- Solid understanding of modern database architectures and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. C++, Python), and development practices is desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills, able to take projects from a fudgeable start to a fully documented finish.
