Technical Leader, Software Engineering – Java/Go | Distributed Systems | Kafka | Microservices | Cloud | 12+ Years
Webex Data Analytics Platform (WAP) engineering organization is responsible for developing the big data platform at Webex. The platform forms the base on which other teams, including the WAP team, develop their analytics and data pipelines.
We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join a high-impact data engineering team with a focus on developing data products and features by leveraging the underlying data analytics platform.
Your Impact- Build high-performant, highly scalable, sophisticated, and distributed systems – end to end.
- Give to a future-ready, high-quality, and performant codebase.
- Share technical solutions and product ideas with the broader team through compose review, code review, proof-of-concepts, and show-and-tell sessions.
- Participate and give ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
- Work closely with development, testing, and various cross-technology teams to develop development strategies and plans, followed by crafting and writing code reflecting product requirements and functionality.
- At least 12+ years of experience in developing enterprise grade applications.
- Strong experience in Java or GO.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of software engineers.
- Influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability and reliability.
- Adept in using AI tools like Copilot/Cursor/Codex/Windsurf etc., in invent/development and testing.
- Confirmed foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented develop, and SOA architectures.
- Experience in building large, asynchronous task systems, scalable distributed systems with a good understanding of microservices architecture and associated principles.
- Experience developing services using frameworks like spring, spring boot.
- Experience with Docker or other configuration management tools.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful Webservices and Adaptable web design patterns.
- Expertise in Messaging Systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with 12-Factor app development methodology and guiding principles.
