General Summary:
Are you adept managing and developing complex financial solutions in partnership with Finance & Accounting? Our DTE Enterprise Technology team is seeking an experienced functional lead analyst with solid technical knowledge, a real passion for addressing business needs using data and technology and strong collaboration capabilities.
You will build, support, and develop solutions in our Enterprise Planning & Reporting environment to support Finance, Accounting, and enterprise level efforts. You will partner with colleagues across the DTE organization, external partners, and software vendors with a focus on our financial business systems and processes. You’ll need to be a self-starter with a solid sense of urgency who thrives when operating in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be the functional lead for our financial systems activity across our global locations and will also need to build a strong collaboration with our central data analytics team located in Boston, MA (USA). This role will also support the technical lead within the department. This role will be located in our Boston (US) office.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise on the global functional/technical needs for the design and development of budgeting, forecasting & reporting content in Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions including HFM, Oracle EPBCS and Oracle Essbase.
- Partner with consultants and the US based functional team to develop and maintain systems and application code for EPM solutions including Oracle EPBCS using MDX, MaxL, Groovy, and corresponding languages / technologies.
- Participate in the assessment, approval and implementation of changes according to Vertex change management processes and procedures
- Assist in the assessment, investigation, resolution, status / KPI reporting of Incidents for the service / system
- Partner with managed services team members and DTE peers for platform and database support, as well as technical development for enhancements and projects
- Develop and maintain BI reporting solutions, based on Finance and Accounting data, in Microsoft Power BI
- Troubleshoot challenges experienced by users to perform root cause analysis, manage relationships with our strategic software vendors and service providers
- Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations, as well as our DTE system lifecycle and change management requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze, execute and document complex functional/technical designs, translate business needs and functional requirements into technical solutions
- Experienced and self-directed individual able to work independently and collaboratively in matrixed team environment, lead technical DTE team members to complete assigned workstream tasks in a timely manner and with expected level of quality
- Strong understanding of functional business concepts including Headcount, Balance Sheet and P&L Accounting, Journal Entry & Sub ledger Accounting, Financial Close & Consolidation processes and Forecasting
- Good understanding and demonstrable experience with SQL Data Warehousing, Operational Data Stores, Automation processes and related SQL Querying
- Demonstrated solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good knowledge of distributed data processing and management systems
- Demonstrated ability to organize and incorporate complex systems requirements into product features and prioritize features effectively
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Data Relationship Management (DRM)
- Proven functional/technical leadership and system life cycle expertise
- Superior MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint Experience
- Experience with EPBCS, including scripting languages MDX, MaxL, and Groovy is a plus
- Experience with HFM and DRM is a plus
- Life sciences industry experience is a plus
- Experience managing incidents, changes and configuration management in ITSM tool such as ServiceNow
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline. Degree in Accounting or Finance is also acceptable with corresponding systems knowledge (or equivalent experience)
- 6 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience with Hyperion Planning (EPBCS), including associated scripting languages
- 1+ years experience with modern BI tools

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
