Technical Lead - I
What you will do
In this role, you will be part of product development team to manage & deliver new product functionalities, modify existing product’s functionalities or improve product functionalities as required.
The Embedded Software Technical Lead will perform Embedded Software development activities including the design, development and test of software programs for Fire detection systems.
You will work within a multi-disciplined engineering team consisting of electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, programmers and scientists focusing on applied research and new technology innovations to provide new and improved products and solutions for our customers.
How you will do it
Architect and own the embedded software for fire detection system
Design, Code & Test for embedded SW systems
Plan and manage Software contribution to development projects
Provide third-level support to field engineers
Maintain released products
Identify & record metrics for Software activities
Liaise with other departments including Product Support, Technical Authors & SQA
Participate in project planning, effort estimation, Analysis, coding & unit testing.
Identify, analyze and resolve complex software inadequacies.
Review and provide feedback on product functional specifications.
Participate in assisting Compliance, Approvals, factory testing with any necessary support.
Participate in product development meetings, design reviews and code reviews.
Prepare the documentation as per ISO QMS guidelines & Participate in Quality Management System reviews
Makes recommendations for changes to software development guidelines & standards.
Develop methods, metrics, techniques & evaluation criteria for algorithms, products, processes.
Define guidelines for implementation of clean, well-structured code with proper abstraction and reusability
Comply with and make recommendations for changes to established development guidelines and standards.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the development realm through interaction with other groups, communication with external experts and suppliers and independent research.
Work for estimation, design, analysis, coding and unit testing
What we look for
8 to 14 years’ experience in Embedded C, C++ application & microcontroller driver development
BE (ECE/EIE/ETC/CSE) Degree in a technical field is required.
Good exposure to Embedded bus protocols - I2C, SPI, UART. Strong in analog and digital hardware and interfacing peripherals, microcontrollers.
Application development for RTOS, Embedded Linux platform ,middleware & application (good to have but not must)
Good experience working on NPIs and sustenance projects with good hold on the process front
Experience on firmware development on Renesas, Microchip, ST microcontrollers and it’s tools is preferred. Should have good hands-on with Github, JIRA or any similar tools for version/source control
Knowledge of Embedded software design and development practice; programming techniques and systems and language platforms. Multi-tasking/Multi-threaded.
Good debugging skills with debuggers - ICE, GDB, JTAG, chip programmer.
Experience on Estimation, Risks, planning and task allocation and tracking. Usage of tools like JIRA, Confluence etc is preferred
Self-motivated and a good team player, should be able to work independently with minimal supervision from Engineering Managers.

Skills Required

- Experience in estimation, risk assessment, planning, task allocation and tracking
- Familiarity with Confluence and similar collaboration tools
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and fire detection or similar safety-critical systems
- Experience with Qt/Linux, C#/WPF, Delphi, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
