Primary Responsibilities:
- The Senior Manager of Product Management is a Grade 29 leadership role based in India. This position will lead product management capabilities within the Coordination of Benefits Solutions Suite, which sits within Payment Integrity, a business unit of Optum Insight
- This leader will initially manage a team of four product professionals, with expected growth as the portfolio expands. The team will own capabilities that support observability dashboards and reports, operational reporting web applications, staffing productivity insights, growth reporting, workforce productivity enhancements, automation opportunities, agentic AI capabilities, and smart user interface improvements
- This role requires solid core product management skills. The Senior Manager will serve as the authority for the long-term vision and roadmap for the capabilities within this portfolio. They will take high-level business goals and break them down into clear capabilities, product priorities, and actionable delivery plans. They will also be responsible for building tactical plans from scratch, shaping backlog priorities, making prioritization decisions, and clearly communicating tradeoffs across stakeholders
- The role is aligned to an engineering organization of approximately 40 engineers. The Senior Manager and direct reports will partner closely with engineering, operations, analytics, finance, compliance, sales, and business leaders to define priorities, maintain delivery alignment, and ensure capabilities meet business and customer needs
- The Coordination of Benefits Solutions Suite supports a customer base that includes U.S. health insurance companies and providers. This leader will help translate customer, operational, and business needs into actionable product strategy, roadmaps, requirements, and measurable outcomes
- Key responsibilities include leading portfolio roadmap development, prioritizing work across program increments, supporting investment planning, and monitoring and tracking investment expenditures. The role requires solid financial discipline, clear communication of tradeoffs, and the ability to connect product investments to business value
- The team works in program increments, so familiarity with SAFe Agile practices is preferred. The Senior Manager will help drive disciplined planning, backlog readiness, cross-team dependency management, and transparent delivery reporting
- This role does not require travel. Work hours are aligned so the end of shift occurs at 10:00 AM U.S. Central Time
- Success in this position requires solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a large matrix organization. The role involves regular collaboration with many partners and requires the ability to maintain alignment across multiple stakeholders while driving progress, resolving issues, and supporting successful product outcomes

Required Qualifications:
- 13+ years experience in agile delivery, product lifecycle, or related technical roles
- Product management leadership experience, preferably in health care technology, payment integrity, coordination of benefits, reporting, analytics, workflow automation, or operational platforms
- Experience defining long-term product vision, building roadmaps, and translating business strategy into capabilities, priorities, and delivery plans
- Experience leading product teams, with the ability to coach direct reports and scale team capabilities as the portfolio grows
- Experience working with engineering teams in an agile delivery model. Familiarity with SAFe Agile and program increment planning is preferred
- Experience with dashboards, reporting applications, operational productivity tools, automation, AI-enabled capabilities, or smart user interface design preferred
- Experience collaborating across product, engineering, operations, finance, compliance, sales, and executive stakeholders
- Solid backlog management skills, including prioritizing work, evaluating tradeoffs, making decisions with incomplete information, and aligning stakeholders around sequencing
- Ability to take high-level goals and build a tactical product plan from scratch, including capability definition, requirements, dependencies, milestones, and success measures
- Solid understanding of product roadmaps, business cases, investment tracking, and financial stewardship
- Ability to translate business, operational, and customer needs into product strategy, prioritized requirements, and measurable outcomes
- Solid interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills required for success in a large matrix organization
- Knowledge of U.S. health care, health insurance operations, provider workflows, payment integrity, or coordination of benefits preferred
- Ability to work India-based hours aligned to a 10:00 AM U.S. Central Time end of shift
