Overview
Join a highly visible engineering team responsible for supporting the technology that powers M&T Bank's ATM ecosystem and strategic TCR-related technology initiatives. As a Technical Engineer, you will work at the intersection of systems engineering, application deployment, automation, infrastructure support, and customer experience.
This role is responsible for supporting, configuring, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing vendor-provided ATM software platforms and related technologies that enable critical banking services for customers across the organization. While this is not a traditional software engineering role focused on building applications from scratch, it provides the opportunity to work with enterprise-scale technology platforms, support automation initiatives, improve operational reliability, and contribute to enhancements that are directly experienced by bank customers.
One of the most unique aspects of this role is the ability to see the direct impact of your work. Whether supporting the deployment of a new ATM feature, improving platform stability, enhancing operational processes, or helping deliver new functionality across the ATM network, your contributions will support a technology channel used by customers every day. Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with Technology management, more experienced Engineers, and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage technical solutions that meet current and future business needs.
- Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and support vendor-provided ATM software applications, TCR-related technology solutions, and associated platforms.
- Support ATM monitoring systems, deposit management systems, and related operational technologies.
- Perform software deployment, application maintenance, platform upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Utilize PowerShell, batch scripting, and other automation tools to support software deployment, application maintenance, and operational processes.
- Perform systems administration activities including configuration management, Group Policy administration, networking support, and Windows platform support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, platform, infrastructure, and operational issues.
- Assist with infrastructure review, implementation, technical analysis, testing, support documentation, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with business partners, support teams, vendors, and senior engineers to identify solutions and execute technology initiatives.
- Maintain a working knowledge of supported applications, services, and vendor technologies used by the Bank.
- Seek to expand knowledge and understanding of financial services technologies, industry trends, operational processes, ATM platforms, and TCR-related solutions.
- Follow and promote industry best practices, standards, and procedures.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Education and Experience Required
- Combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

Education and Experience Preferred
- College degree
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and/or development for complex applications
- Experience serving as a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, Technical Engineer, Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, ATM Engineer, or similar role
- Experience supporting ATM and TCR technology platforms, including software deployment, administration, configuration, maintenance, and operational support
- Experience supporting ATM technology providers such as Diebold, NCR/Atleos, Hyosung, or similar ATM platforms
- Experience supporting vendor-provided software products in enterprise environments
- Experience supporting customer-facing technology platforms
- Knowledge and expertise in industry and/or vendor technologies
- Strong knowledge of server/client and virtual technologies
- Networking knowledge
- Group Policy administration experience
- Windows systems support experience
- Endpoint management experience
- Knowledge of vulnerability remediation practices

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $80,900.00 - $134,800.00 Annual (USD).
