Job Summary
The Technical Editor will review, edit, and refine intelligence products to ensure they meet high standards for accuracy, clarity, consistency, classification markings, and Intelligence Community style requirements. The position will work closely with intelligence analysts and support production requirements in a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and edit intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure intelligence products comply with Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings, DIA Style Guide, ICD 203, and applicable IC standards.
- Work closely with analysts and intelligence professionals to improve the quality, accuracy, and readability of finished intelligence products.
- Ensure complex intelligence information is presented clearly and appropriately for different audiences.
- Support intelligence editing and production requirements in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required.
- Experience reviewing and editing written intelligence products with a high degree of accuracy.
- Knowledge of Community Authorized Classification and Control Markings, DIA Style Guide, and ICD 203.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
- One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Associate's degree and 8+ years of technical editing experience; or
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of technical editing experience; or
- Master's degree and 2+ years of technical editing experience.
- Experience working in a Combatant Command (COCOM) environment.
- Experience incorporating intelligence information into all-source research, analysis, and production.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community and organizational style guides.
- Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to audiences with varying backgrounds and levels of expertise.
