Department Description
The Technology function within the Technology, Finance and Investment Admin department provides IT services to the Fidelity International business, globally. These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, and marketing and customer service functions.
Purpose of your role
As a senior member of the Technology Infrastructure Services team, you will have a broad range of technical knowledge specializing in Storage & Backup administration. Provide Storage & Backup service delivery and automation. This position is for an engineer who is experienced in administering the hardware and software solutions that provide Enterprise Storage (SAN/NAS/Object) and Backup services for applications across the FIL enterprise. The candidate is expected to display strong technical skill while exhibiting a high level of ownership within a demanding working environment. He/she needs work closely with global team to provide day to day Engineering support and enhancement especially the coding skillset. He/she will need to coordinate with overseas project teams, comply with company standard and supportable solutions to complex technical issues as Storage/Backup/DR design as well as monitoring solution etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide systems administration on Storage & Backup platforms including HA solution design; Hardware/Software implementation and maintenance; capacity planning; performance tuning; patching; monitoring and upgrades.
- Perform routine Storage & Backup systems operation automation, Risk & Vulnerability remediation, monitor systems activities to ensure smooth daily operation of systems facilities.
- Can handle Storage & Backup relate BAU (Business As Usual) job such as handling (Netapp/Isilon/NBU backup/Data Domain/Powermax/Vmax) service requests, incidents and changes to keep the platform running smoothly.
- Support of regional and local project management and system implementations.
- Support Storage & Backup knowledge base management and update.
- Support 24 x 7 On-call Rota and Some out of hours maintenance of the infrastructure.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Essential skills and experience
- Good experience in Backup products support such as Netbackup, Data Domain, DDboost, etc.
- Good experience in Data replication NetApp snapmirror, DataDomain mtree replication and NBU AIR technology.
- Good experience in automation skill with one of the scripting languages (Python, Linux Shell)
Desirable skills
- Knowledge in MS Azure or Amazon AWS cloud support
- Knowledge in code version control with GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Experience in working with or creating RESTful APIs, and their associated gateways, for infrastructure service abstraction and consumption – defining standards, methods, frameworks and working practices.
- Storage and Backup management toolset experience in VIPR SRM, SYMCLI, Unisphere, Connectrix Manager and the various CLI interfaces for the above products.
- Experience in Azure cloud & AWS cloud services (VM/EC2; Security Group; EBS; Firewall; KMS; S3 etc)
- Resource deployment with Terraform experience in one of the public clouds (Azure/AWS)
