About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Technical Architect — Marketing Cloud Next is an execution-focused technical leader responsible for architecting and delivering end-to-end migrations from legacy marketing platforms (Eloqua, Marketo, HubSpot, legacy SFMC) to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next. As a foundational member of the Strategic Migration CoE and Migration Factory, you will act as primary technical authority for the Marketing Cloud Next track — owning the solution design, data architecture, subscriber migration strategy, journey migration blueprint, and Data Cloud unified profile design. You will combine deep Marketing Cloud Next platform expertise with advanced data migration methodologies to ensure that subscriber data, consent records, journeys, content and preference data are migrated with full integrity, compliance and zero business disruption.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the Technical Lead for Marketing Cloud Next migration workstreams, architecting the end-to-end transition from legacy email, journey and data platforms to Marketing Cloud Next and Salesforce Data Cloud.

  • Drive Enterprise AI Architecture by designing and integrating scalable predictive and generative AI solutions within custom Salesforce environments, optimizing performance, resource consumption, and platform governor limits

  • Lead technical design sessions; architect and document technical solutions aligned with client business objectives; identify gaps between client's current and desired end states, using advanced LLMs like Claude to review architectural assumptions and simulate system edge cases

  • Champion an AI-first delivery methodology, utilizing advanced AI tools, developer assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude), and agentic evaluation frameworks to accelerate implementation across projects

  • Design the subscriber and audience data migration strategy, including data extension schema, subscriber key mapping, suppression list migration, consent record preservation (GDPR/CAN-SPAM/CASL) and historical send data handling.

  • Architect the Salesforce Data Cloud implementation for unified customer profile design, identity resolution rules, data stream ingestion from source systems, and audience segmentation activation to Marketing Cloud Next.

  • Own the journey migration blueprint — mapping legacy automation workflows, drip campaigns and triggered sends from source platforms to Marketing Cloud Next Journey Builder, including decision splits, wait steps and exit criteria.

  • Define end-to-end data lineage including data profiling, cleansing logic, transformation mapping and reconciliation strategies for all subscriber objects, data extensions and consent tables.

  • Lead functional and technical discovery workshops with client marketing operations teams to uncover complex migration requirements, data quality issues, consent architecture gaps and legacy platform dependencies.

  • Design scalable, secure migration frameworks that handle high-volume subscriber data (LDV) while maintaining compliance with email deliverability standards, privacy regulations and platform governor limits.

  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor to the client, driving conversations with marketing technology leaders and Enterprise Architects to shape the Marketing Cloud Next migration roadmap and data governance vision.

  • Establish best-in-class standards for the Marketing Cloud Next migration practice — promoting standardised data extension templates, journey migration patterns and reusable AMPscript/SSJS libraries to accelerate factory throughput.

  • Manage the functional depth of Source vs. Target systems, maintaining deep understanding of how legacy marketing automation logic (segmentation rules, scoring models, campaign hierarchies) translates into Marketing Cloud Next and Data Cloud native features.

  • Lead cutover planning and execution for Marketing Cloud Next go-live — including subscriber list freeze, final data load sequencing, DNS/deliverability validation, sender authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and post-migration warm-up strategy.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks proactively — including subscriber key conflicts, deliverability degradation, consent compliance gaps, data extension volume limits, and journey logic incompatibilities.

  • Contribute to the Migration Factory by building reusable migration toolkits, playbooks and config accelerators for the Marketing Cloud Next track, ensuring each successive wave is faster and higher quality.

  • Collaborate with the Integration Architect to design API-triggered send frameworks, transactional messaging integrations, and CRM-to-MC Next data sync patterns.

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS — MUST HAVE

  • Marketing Cloud Next Platform Depth: Advanced expertise in Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Mobile Studio, Advertising Studio and Contact Builder / Audience Builder.

  • Data Cloud / CDP: Hands-on experience with Salesforce Data Cloud — data stream configuration, identity resolution, unified profile modelling, segmentation and activation to MC Next.

  • Subscriber Data Architecture: Deep understanding of subscriber data model, data extensions, sendable vs non-sendable objects, contact counts, suppression logic and list management at scale.

  • Consent & Compliance Architecture: Expert knowledge of GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, POPI — consent record migration, preference centre design, suppression list management and compliance-aligned data handling.

  • Email Deliverability: Strong understanding of sender reputation, IP warm-up strategy, SPF/DKIM/DMARC configuration and deliverability validation post-migration.

  • Data Migration Methodology: Proven expertise in executing high-volume subscriber migrations — data profiling, ETL pipeline design, transformation mapping and reconciliation for marketing data objects.

  • Integration Architecture: Understanding of Marketing Cloud Connect (CRM sync), REST/SOAP Marketing Cloud APIs, API-triggered sends and event-driven messaging patterns.

  • AMPscript / SSJS: Proficiency in dynamic content scripting for migrated email templates — ensuring legacy personalisation logic is recreated accurately in MC Next.

PREFERRED SKILLS — GOOD TO HAVE

  • Experience migrating from Eloqua, Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot or legacy SFMC Classic to Marketing Cloud Next

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools — Informatica Cloud, Talend, MuleSoft, Azure Data Factory — for large-scale subscriber data extraction and transformation

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Interaction Studio / Personalisation for 1-to-1 journey personalisation post-migration

  • Experience with WhatsApp, LINE, Push and SMS channel migration in addition to email

  • Familiarity with marketing data warehouse patterns (Snowflake, Databricks) as upstream Data Cloud data sources

  • Understanding of Salesforce Loyalty Cloud or Commerce Cloud as upstream journey trigger sources

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing technology and Salesforce platform solutions

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, with at least 2 end-to-end platform migration projects

  • 3+ years of client-facing advisory or architecture roles on enterprise-scale transformation programmes

  • Demonstrated experience migrating high-volume subscriber databases (10M+ records) with zero consent data loss
