The Tech lead is a key role combining technical expertise with leadership and project management skills ensuring that project work within the software development team is on track. They provide technical execution and strategic direction ensuring the successful delivery of project work.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on technical aspects of projects. Make critical decisions regarding technology stacks, architecture, and design patterns to ensure the project's success and maintainability.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices. Ensure that code reviews are conducted and that the codebase adheres to quality benchmarks.
  • Mentor and support team members, helping them grow their technical skills and advance their careers. Provide guidance on problem-solving and professional development.
  • Work with product managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements. Assist in defining technical milestones and timelines, and ensure that the team delivers on schedule.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
  • Identify potential technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Address and resolve technical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Advocate for and implement improvements in processes, tools, and practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team remains competitive.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Be proactive in identifying and addressing potential problems before they impact the project.
  • Ensure that technical documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible. This includes system design documents, API specifications, and user guides.
  • Oversee testing strategies and ensure that the final product meets the required quality standards. Collaborate with QA teams to address issues and validate solutions.
  • Help manage the technical resources of the team, including tools, infrastructure, and personnel. Ensure that the team has the necessary resources to complete their tasks effectively.

Role Requirements

  • Prior experience in a Technical Leadership role is essential
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Lead and influence technical problem solving and solution design
  • Distinguished web development skills across TypeScript, React.js, Node.js and AWS
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to consider all dimensions of the business issues into solution design.
  • Experience in management, deployments and scaling of cloud based services (AWS preferable)
