Job Description

  • As Team Manager Manufacturing Processes & Equipment Development – Mixing & Preparation (m/f/diverse), you will lead a team of engineers responsible for the development, specification and implementation, as well as the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment for rubber mixing and material preparation, including weighing and dosing, milling, extrusion, calendaring, and material handling, for ContiTech’s diverse product groups Conveying Solutions, Fluid Handling Solutions, Dynamic & Suspension Solutions (Air Springs), Power Transmission Solutions, and Surface Solutions, with a particular focus on Compound manufacturing for production sites worldwide.

    Your team drives three strategic pillars: global investment initiatives, harmonized manufacturing platforms and standards, as well as innovation and optimization programs aimed at strengthening competitiveness, operational excellence, and sustainability across ContiTech’s global manufacturing network.

    Lead and advance the development, specification, and global implementation of innovative and efficient manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Develop, harmonize, and standardize manufacturing concepts, and technology platforms to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and competitiveness
  • Lead strategic investment initiatives for new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and production capabilities across ContiTech locations worldwide
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative process technologies, automation concepts, digital solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive operational and strategic supplier development by building strong technology partnerships, enhancing supplier capabilities, and ensuring long-term manufacturing excellence
  • Foster knowledge management and best-practice sharing across plants, business areas, and central functions while providing technical leadership and expert support to manufacturing locations worldwide
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of engineers, ensuring capability building, succession planning, and continuous professional development
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives through the development of resource-efficient and energy-efficient technologies supporting ContiTech’s productivity, quality, and environmental objectives

Qualifications

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
  • Several years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering, production equipment development, automation technologies, industrialization, or related manufacturing technologies, ideally within the rubber, polymer, or process industry
  • Expertise in rubber processing technologies, particularly in mixing, compounding, material preparation, dosing, feeding, or material handling processes
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, and coaching engineering teams as well as managing cross-functional and international technology, industrialization, supplier development, and investment projects
  • Experience in operational and strategic supplier development, including supplier qualification, capability development, innovation partnerships, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Strong ability to develop technology roadmaps, manufacturing standards, technology platforms, and harmonized process concepts across different production locations and product groups
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills combined with a strategic, hands-on, solution-oriented, and implementation-focused working style
  • Fluent English language skills; German language skills are advantageous
  • Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate effectively within a global manufacturing network

Skills Required
