The Recycling Team Lead is responsible for leading the team in the collection and/or proper disposal of cardboard, plastics, metal and trash. The ideal candidate will be proficient in scheduling hauls, handling day-to-day activities, and operating powered equipment. This may include tugger and/or forklift operation, vertical and/or horizontal baler operation, as well as other tasks as assigned by the Recycling Manager.
What You Need to Know:
- Able to ensure compliance with Husqvarna’s safety policy and procedures, to include but not limited to: wearing of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Able to operate machinery, such as powered industrial trucks, balers, compactors or other recycling processing equipment.
- Ability to train and deploy employees on various equipment and tasks.
- Able to facilitate cleanliness and orderliness of the recycling area.
- Able to collaborate with other team members to achieve production targets and ensure efficient operations within the recycling facility.
- Able to follow written/oral work instructions.
- Able to keep accurate records of materials received, processed, and shipped to maintain inventory control and facilitate reporting.
- Able to act as primary person responsible for maintaining 5S and Standard Work.
- Able to refer employee relations issues to Recycling Manager for appropriate action.

- Physical fitness and stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and spend long hours on their feet.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for sorting materials quickly and efficiently.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain recycling equipment effectively.
- Ability to work independently with time management skills to prioritize tasks.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previously held material handler position.
- Previous experience as a Team Lead preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in adverse conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to lift more than 40 lbs frequently.
