Ready to take your tax career beyond technical advice?

At Schibsted, tax goes beyond compliance. We combine technical expertise with commercial understanding to support business decisions, manage risks and contribute to the Group's strategic priorities.

We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our Group Tax function. Based in Sweden, you will work across the Nordics, supporting our leading media brands in their respective markets. You will take ownership of tax matters, contribute to strategic projects and collaborate with colleagues across Schibsted.

About Schibsted

Schibsted is home to some of the most established and widely used media brands in the Nordics, including Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet, TV4, Aftenposten, VG, E24 and MTV.

Independent journalism is at the heart of what we do. Through trusted news, engaging content and innovative digital services, our brands inform and connect millions of people every day. Combining strong media brands with a commitment to innovation, we continuously explore new ways to engage audiences and develop our products and services.

The opportunity

As Tax Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Tax and play an important role in shaping and developing our Group Tax function.

You will take ownership of Swedish tax matters while contributing to Nordic and international tax initiatives. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, exposure to a broad range of tax disciplines and the opportunity to work on matters that are important to the Group.

What you will do
  • Corporate income tax: Manage Swedish corporate tax matters, including reporting, compliance and tax audits.

  • International tax: Advise on cross-border tax matters, including transfer pricing, Pillar Two and Country-by-Country Reporting.

  • Indirect tax: Advise on VAT matters related to digital products, subscriptions, bundled offerings and cross-border transactions.

  • Strategic projects: Provide tax advice on M&A, reorganisations and commercial initiatives.

  • Business partnering: Collaborate with Finance, Legal and business stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially sound tax advice.

  • Tax technology and processes: Help develop Group-wide tax processes and controls, leveraging AI, automation and digital tools to improve efficiency.

You will work across a broad range of tax topics, but we do not expect you to be an expert in all of them from day one.

Who are we looking for?

We believe the right mindset is just as important as technical expertise.

You have a strong foundation in tax, enjoy solving complex problems and are curious about how businesses operate. You are comfortable taking responsibility, managing projects and collaborating with stakeholders across different functions and countries.

We think you will bring:

  • A university degree in law, economics, business or a related discipline.

  • Relevant experience in corporate taxation, preferably from a Big Four firm, a law firm or an international group.

  • A solid understanding of Swedish corporate taxation, combined with an interest in Nordic and international tax matters.

  • Experience advising multinationals or working on cross-border tax projects.

  • Strong analytical skills and sound commercial judgment, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical recommendations.

  • The ability to manage projects, engage stakeholders and drive matters forward independently.

  • Strong communication skills and professional fluency in Swedish and English.

Experience within media, technology, telecommunications or other digital businesses would be particularly relevant.

Above all, we value curiosity, initiative and a pragmatic mindset. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning, challenges assumptions and understands the wider business implications of tax decisions.

An interest in AI, technology and how the tax profession is evolving is something we particularly value.

Why join Schibsted?

Work close to the business. Contribute to commercial and strategic decisions across some of the Nordics' most recognised media brands.

Make a real impact. Join a developing Group Tax function where you can take ownership, influence priorities and help shape how we work.

Broaden your expertise. Work across tax disciplines, countries and business models, with significant autonomy and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Shape the future of tax. Help explore how AI, technology and smarter processes can improve the way tax functions operate.

Interested?

If you have a solid tax foundation and an ambition to work closer to the business, we would love to hear from you.

You don't need to tick every box. We are looking for someone with the judgment, drive and potential to grow with the role.

Join us and help shape the future of tax at Schibsted.
