TAX Accountant

As a tax accounting associate, you will be joining a fast-paced, collaborative accounting team that focuses on balancing accuracy alongside improving accounting processes. You will play a key role in US tax preparation and compliance which includes troubleshooting a variety of issues and communicating with the department.

What you’ll do

• Assist the Senior Tax Accountant with various tasks. 
• Review and validate exemption certificates daily.
• Review and validate independent provider’s Washington workers comp status daily.
• Prepare sales tax credit memos monthly and update Avalara transactions.
• Review Vendor W9s for accuracy to support annual 1099-NEC reporting monthly.
• Process Provider tax information changes as needed.
• Online Certificate upload audit weekly.
• Extract and analyze sales data to identify discrepancies for monthly sales tax filings.
• Perform month-end reconciliation of sales tax liability between financial systems.
• Review and troubleshoot complex tax issues as they arise related to data discrepancies as needed.
• Aid in implementation of tax policies and identifying the areas of improvement as needed. 
• Ensure accurate and organized tax records, documentation, and tax filing returns for BD operations.
• Ensure TAX, VAT compliance as per latest law/act for BD operations.
• Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits for both US and BD operations.
• Comply with work policies set by the organization.
• Customer Support for Accounting/Tax that includes answering phones, handling communications with clients and vendors via phone through SalesForce support cases.
• Oversee tax related accounting cases to ensure they are being responded to on a prompt basis.

What you’ll need

• Proficiency in oral and written English is a must. 
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to understand when to escalate issues to a high level.
• Team working ability.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Keen in attention to details.
• Knowledge of Bangladesh and US tax compliance and regulations.
• Ability to understand basic accounting principles.
• Ability to understand different kinds of software used for accounting e.g. Netsuite, FN platform,Salesforce, Avalara.
• Problem-solving and analysis skills.
• Basic understanding of US government structure for US sales tax.
• 2-3 years of working experience.
• Ability to Identify and escalate issues to the appropriate persons.
