General Summary:Unum is seeking a strategic & dynamic Talent Acquisition Consultant to support full-cycle, high-volume recruiting with a focus on class-hiring within our Customer Operations organization.
In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to execute the end-to-end recruitment of assigned requisitions. Your responsibilities include determining job requirements, screening candidates, forecasting hiring needs, sourcing, and the recruiting & selection process to meet Unum’s business needs. As a Talent Advisor and Brand Ambassador, you will promote Unum through various outreach initiatives and events, ensuring we attract top talent in a competitive market.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Chattanooga, TN campus- a vibrant hub of collaboration, innovation, and engagement. We believe that the most impactful relationships are built face-to-face, and this role offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of our culture. While we support flexibility with our office culture, the ability to build trust and influence in real time is essential to success in this role.

How You’ll Thrive

  • Ensure that Unum hires the highest quality candidates with the skills, education and experience necessary to meet our business needs. 
  • Execute comprehensive sourcing and recruitment strategies for exempt and high-volume non-exempt openings to meet current and ongoing staffing requirements.
  • Develop strong rapport & working relationships with diverse audiences, including but not limited to business management, faculty and academic administration, student organizations, vendors and community resources.
  • Conduct structured interviews and assessments to ensure we select top-quality candidates.
  • Develop strategies for attracting diverse talent through networking to boost Unum’s brand and proactively source and identify candidates for pipeline.
  • Consult and educate managers and selection teams on recruiting and selection-related topics and issues.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute on-campus recruitment efforts, including information sessions, career fairs, etc.
  • Meet recruiting goals and high-performance standards to support achievement of business results.
  • Promote the employee referral bonus program to create additional pools of quality talent.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends to ensure candidates meet current standards.
  • Partner and collaborate to develop alternative recruiting strategies, as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
     

What You’ll Bring with You

  • Associates degree required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of successful recruitment and selection experience required, with knowledge in all full-cycle recruiting components and the ability to manage high volume recruitment.
  • Insurance industry experience and HR certifications preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly organized and detailed.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong negotiation, decision making and persuasion skills.
  • Rapport building and interpersonal skills for effective networking.
  • Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to work in a metric driven environment required.
  • Understanding of the job market and the ability to address challenges with alternate recruiting strategies.
  • Ability to gain the attention and respect of hiring managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to function/recruit on a national/international, multi-location level.
  • Strong technical aptitude: extensive use of internet as a vehicle for sourcing, job postings and researching; Ability to effectively learn and utilize Applicant Tracking Systems; Ability to grasp MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$53,300.00-$100,700.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
