We are currently looking for a R&D Software Test Engineer in the Sports Medicine business to drive Systems and Software verification efforts in partnership with the Systems Engineering and R&D New Product Development teams. The role will work with the R&D Manager of Systems Verification

What will you be doing?

• Support and execute small to medium scale projects’ systems and software test activities, allocate test equipment and materials and align with Program Management and Cross-Functional on deliverables and timeline

• Create, validate, and maintain custom test automation platforms in the appropriate scripting language

• Identify, report, track, prioritize HW/SW defects using defects management systems (e.g. JIRA) and validate fixes

• Support the Systems and R&D engineers with definition of new products – implementing operational profiles, preparing for test, dry-run, executing test, tracing requirements to test cases and guiding the test strategy

• Support trouble shooting and root causing of Systems defects and enable R&D team identify fixes

• Draft and own verification plans, protocols, test cases, summary reports, trace matrix and other related technical documentation; Provide transparency to trace matrix test coverage and test progress for programs

• Participate in design and requirements reviews, analysis and support the development of documentation required for FDA device approval

• Support Systems and Software FMEA across various subsystems within the AET products, as per ISO 14971, IEC 62304, & IEC 80002-1

• Ensure the adequacy of software design quality for AET products, including test design, protocol and results review and other supporting quality evidence

• Support the Validation / Qualification of third-party software components and tools used for software development and verification/validation, including COTS/SOUP analysis

What will you need to be succesful?

• Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science/Engineering, or Biomedical

• Experience with testing; planning, execution and reporting

• Experience in working on and developing embedded products that includes hardware, electrical and software

• Hands-on experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW for testing, data acquisition, data and signal processing, etc.

• Experience with the Biomedical/Medical Device industry

• Experience in software development and test processes

• Hands-on experience in one or more of the programming or scripting languages (C/C++, C#, Java, Python, etc.)

• Persistent, driven, self-motivated, keen to make an impact

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• English skills on very good level

The anticipated gross annual base compensation range for this position is 29.500 –44.000 EUR.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on objective, job related factors including (but not limited to) relevant skills, qualifications and experience, scope and responsibilities of the role, geographic location and internal equity considerations. Compensation decisions are made using consistent and gender neutral criteria, in line with applicable pay transparency laws. This role has been evaluated within our internal job architecture and mapped to a defined pay band to ensure consistency and fairness.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science/Engineering, or Biomedical
  • 2 years related experience with a BS degree (1 year with MS degree)
  • Experience developing embedded products that include hardware, electrical and software
  • Hands-on experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW
  • Hands-on experience in one or more programming or scripting languages (C/C++, C#, Java, Python)
  • Experience with Biomedical/Medical Device industry
  • Experience with test planning, execution and reporting
  • Experience with software development and test processes
  • Experience using defect management systems (e.g., JIRA) and validating fixes
