The Opportunity:
CACI has an opportunity on Fort Bragg, NC for a Systems Administrator. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex systems throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between hardware, software, and user requirements, ensuring that all components of the organizational infrastructure work seamlessly together. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can maintain high system availability while driving innovation through automation and optimized architecture.
Responsibilities:
 
System Design & Architecture:
•  Analyze business and technical requirements to design robust, scalable systems.
•  Develop system architecture diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
•   Conduct trade-off studies to determine the best hardware/software solutions for organizational needs.

Implementation & Maintenance:
•   Install, configure, and test operating systems (Linux/Windows), application software, and system management tools.
•   Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of availability.
•  Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and security configurations.

Troubleshooting & Support:
•   Provide Level 2/3 technical support for complex system issues.
•   Perform high-level root cause analysis (RCA) for service interruptions.
•    Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Security & Compliance:
•   Implement and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
•   Ensure systems comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SOC2, NIST) and internal security policies.
•   Monitor for vulnerabilities and execute proactive threat mitigation.

Automation & Optimization:
•   Write and maintain custom scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
•    Monitor system performance and identify "bottlenecks" to improve throughput.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
 

• Operating Systems: Expert knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) or Windows Server environments.

• Cloud Infrastructure: Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Networking: Solid understanding of OSI layers, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.

• Virtualization: Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

• Scripting: Ability to code in at least one language (Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell).

• Soft Skills: Analytical Thinking: Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable tasks.

• Communication: Skilled at explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Degree: B.S. in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).

• Experience: 5+ of professional experience with 3+ years of proven experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux or Windows environments.

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (for server/hardware installation). Occasional travel to data centers or regional offices (up to 10%).

• Security: CompTIA Security+ or CISSP.

• INCOSE: Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).

• Microsoft: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

• Linux: RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer).

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$71,500 - $150,200
