We have an exciting new opening for a Validation Engineer for our E-boosting Products.  You’ll be given the opportunity to develop next generation products and technologies for the automotive industry.   

JOB Title: ECOE (Electrification Center of Excellence) System Engineer

Position Summary:  Individual contributor supporting the development of the next generation products by defining of system requirements and flow down the system requirements to the firmware/software, hardware, and mechanical levels.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and ensure adherence to our Fuel Cell Compressor product specifications (Hardware, Software, Mechanical)
  • Understand system requirements; work closely with the engineering teams to flow down the system requirements to the firmware/software, hardware, and mechanical requirements. Help define new system requirements based on interactions with customers
  • Provide customer & partner single point of contact responsibility for technical teams to ensure technical cross functional alignment
  • Develop and document overall electrification architecture (electrical hardware, software)
  • Through technical documentation (specification, gap analysis, FMEA, test plans, test reports and other documents), ensure technical alignment exists between customer, partners and Garrett cross functional teams
  • Manage technical issues and coordinate through definition of problem statement, root cause analysis, and solution implementation with customer and all cross functional teams
  • Participate in supplier panel selection and supplier development, collaborate on supply strategies                                                                                                                                            

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or System Engineering 
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering which includes hardware and software development. 
  • Ability to work in a global, virtual team environment with English communication

 

  • Product launch experience 
  • Expertise in ISO 26262 with applicable experience and proven track record.
  • Experience with in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet)
  • Prior experience with requirements management
  • Previous experience with high speed motors & Powertrain applications

 

  • Understanding of Automotive standards is preferred 
    • LV-123 / VDA-320 Automotive high voltage / 48V 
    • ISO 16750 / LV-124 Electrical component validation 
    • Hyundai Motor - HV equivalent standards

Skills Required
