We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle support of Safety and Physical Security Systems, including CCTV networks, RFID-based door lock systems, and enterprise access control platforms. This position will be a contract and onsite in Miramar, FL.
Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Lead the full system lifecycle of physical security solutions: including architecture design, configuration, deployment, integration, performance tuning, and operational handoff
Evaluate technical requirements and translate business needs into secure, scalable, and supportable system architectures
Configure and maintain Windows and Linux-based server environments for hosting video surveillance, door access controllers, and supporting backend systems
Integrate third-party systems (e.g., CCTV platforms, RFID lock systems, access management software) using standard protocols and APIs (e.g., ONVIF, REST, SNMP)
Design and implement secure IP networking configurations, including VLAN segmentation, routing policies, and NAT/firewall rules for video and access control systems
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network schematics, data flow diagrams, and deployment runbooks
Collaborate with internal IT, security, and facilities engineering teams to ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and system uptime SLAs
Provide Tier 3 escalation support for infrastructure-related safety system issues, driving root cause analysis and long-term remediation
Deliver training and knowledge transfer to local IT and operational support teams to enable self-sufficiency and adherence to technical standards
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Minimum of 3+ years in a systems engineering or infrastructure implementation role with hands-on experience deploying enterprise IT or physical security systems
Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux OS administration, including services configuration, hardening, and performance tuning
Solid understanding of IP networking, including Layer 2/3, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and network security principles
Experience working with third-party system integrations, including software APIs, SDKs, or custom interfaces
Ability to interpret and produce data flow diagrams, network schematics, and system interaction models
Demonstrated ability to work independently and make technical decisions with minimal supervision
Preferred:
Experience implementing or supporting CCTV platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec) or RFID-based door lock systems (e.g., Salto, Assa Abloy)
Familiarity with building automation systems, IoT sensors, or edge computing devices used in physical security
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$36.00-$41.00 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
