Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle support of Safety and Physical Security Systems, including CCTV networks, RFID-based door lock systems, and enterprise access control platforms. This position will be a contract and onsite in Miramar, FL.

Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full system lifecycle of physical security solutions: including architecture design, configuration, deployment, integration, performance tuning, and operational handoff

  • Evaluate technical requirements and translate business needs into secure, scalable, and supportable system architectures

  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux-based server environments for hosting video surveillance, door access controllers, and supporting backend systems

  • Integrate third-party systems (e.g., CCTV platforms, RFID lock systems, access management software) using standard protocols and APIs (e.g., ONVIF, REST, SNMP)

  • Design and implement secure IP networking configurations, including VLAN segmentation, routing policies, and NAT/firewall rules for video and access control systems

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network schematics, data flow diagrams, and deployment runbooks

  • Collaborate with internal IT, security, and facilities engineering teams to ensure compliance with security policies, data protection standards, and system uptime SLAs

  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for infrastructure-related safety system issues, driving root cause analysis and long-term remediation

  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer to local IT and operational support teams to enable self-sufficiency and adherence to technical standards

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a systems engineering or infrastructure implementation role with hands-on experience deploying enterprise IT or physical security systems

  • Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux OS administration, including services configuration, hardening, and performance tuning

  • Solid understanding of IP networking, including Layer 2/3, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and network security principles

  • Experience working with third-party system integrations, including software APIs, SDKs, or custom interfaces

  • Ability to interpret and produce data flow diagrams, network schematics, and system interaction models

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make technical decisions with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • Experience implementing or supporting CCTV platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec) or RFID-based door lock systems (e.g., Salto, Assa Abloy)

  • Familiarity with building automation systems, IoT sensors, or edge computing devices used in physical security

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
