Description:
The Surgery Architect Systems Engineer will work with a cross-functional program team to deliver surgical imaging products (C-arm X-ray products, etc.) for the global market. This role will be responsible for system level product definition and design.
Roles & Responsibility:
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products
- Providing domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between the hardware and software functions to deliver high-quality systems
- Working with customers, marketing and field personnel to refine requirements which can be followed by the engineering teams
- Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system feature and performance.
- Delivering and incorporating feedback results into new hardware, software, and service specifications
- Responsible for system architecture design, research on advanced technology directions, assisting in team development and other related work.
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
Qualification/ Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above major in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline Bachelor 9+ years, Master 7+ years working experience in medical area R&D. Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design, and good technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Hardware, Image Processing, Software, Regulatory, etc) Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications / Desired Characteristics:
Product design experience in medical devices, especially in X-ray, CT, and DSA product Effective oral and written English communication skills, global project experience will be plus Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
