As Head of North America Reinsurance segment, you will drive the strategic engagement for our business development, including business origination and maintenance of the SCOR “Alternative” offering to clients and brokers, in the region. Within this role, you act as a team manager and as an underwriter.
You are also responsible for the achievement of the Plan, for the profitability of the alternative solutions transactions in the region, and driving the success of the underwriting team within the region. Your plan contribution forms part of the global Alternative Solutions ambition and is achieved through sound technical and profitable underwriting of your transactions.
These goals are achieved through your skill at developing SCOR’s market share and leadership position across Alternative Solutions, through enhancing the Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs.
ResponsibilitiesUnderwriting focus - Originate, design, evaluate and price offers of non-traditional / alternative deals proposals from various sources and negotiate conditions of the contracts
Leadership - Manage the regional team, ensuring optimised allocation of the workload but in additional, and importantly, support the career paths, encouraging personal development and appropriated trainings when required.
Portfolio Optimisation - Manage and renew an existing portfolio of non-traditional / alternative deals currently in place
Business Development – Develop tailored products and promote non-traditional / alternative deals to SCOR clients, brokers and SCOR underwriting teams, designing alternative capital-based strategies for clients
Client Management - Maintain relationships with clients and brokers, showcasing our position in the market, and additional value provided through our expertise
Operational Excellence - Contribute to the deal maintenance, including reporting, reserving and claims settlements in conjunction with the relevant department
Compliance - Ensure compliance with ICS process and Guidelines within the region
New Market Ideation - Investigate, analyze existing and new markets in the area and propose new solutions in order to develop the existing portfolio
Qualifications- Qualified by experience accepted
- Business focused degree advantageous, but not required
- Substantial industry experience, work experience in underwriting in an international environment in an “alternative risk transfer” environment.
- Market leading technical knowledge of subjects associated to non-traditional underwriting as well as a wider understanding of related actuary, accounting, legal, regulatory and capital management topics\

Pay Range for roles performed in NY & CHI: $330,000-$445,000 and $305,000-$410,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including
but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance
