Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Sustainability and Decarbonisation Graduate to support our Sustainability & Decarbonisation Manager. You will play a key role in advancing Sodexo’s sustainability goals and coordinating various environmental initiatives across Australia. This position requires strong project coordination skills, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise in environmental management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Lead and support the deployment of sustainability projects, across our Australian remote sites.
- Progress Reporting: Monitor and assess project outcomes, generating reports on sustainability initiatives and identifying areas for improvement.
- Communications & Marketing: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create impactful sustainability communications.
- Staff Education & Engagement: Inspire and train other employees to be sustainability ambassadors, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Energy and Water Audits: Contribute to the development of energy and water audit frameworks, implementing corrective actions to minimise resource consumption.
- Service Impact Assessment: Track and report on the environmental impact of Sodexo’s operations, focusing on electricity use, carbon emissions, and water consumption.
- Fleet and Renewable Energy Review: Explore opportunities to reduce fleet emissions and support the transition to renewable energy sources.
- Data Analysis: Review and analyse sustainability data, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide expert advice on environmental sustainability, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Sustainability Strategies: Assist in developing sustainability policies, action plans, and carbon accounting frameworks to support Sodexo’s decarbonisation roadmap.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a genuine and infectious passion for sustainability, with a proactive and results-driven approach. Strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders is essential. The role will require excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present environmental data, as well as the confidence to work independently and lead initiatives.
Regular travel to remote locations across Australia will be required.
Qualifications
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science or a related field, with technical knowledge of environmental management, sustainability practices, and carbon reduction.
- This role is ideal for a graduate looking to make a significant impact in the sustainability space and contribute to Sodexo’s global sustainability mission.
