Job Summary
It is a people manager role of a small Vietnam team of supplier quality engineers (SQE) to• Take lead of a team of SQEs to ensure Vietnam suppliers meet Medline quality requirements and goals in mass production phase.
• Develop and manage an independent and high-performed Vietnam team of SQEs to meet team goals.
Job Description
Leadership and team management
- Support Vietnam quality leader cascade the company goals into team goals and individual goals for SQEs, develop the plan, and provide sufficient support to meet the goals;
- Support Vietnam quality leader to develop the team of SQEs by identifying and developing talents, and continuously improving team members’ competency through trainings, coaching and practice;
- Manage the team of SQEs for on-boarding training and probation review, turnover, bonus and performance, expense and travel, team building, etc.
- Work as main contact window or person in charge of Vietnam SQEs for other Medline teams both in Vietnam and other regions, and Vietnam suppliers;
- Work closely with SQE team in other regions to make sure Vietnam team follow the same procedures and requirements and let stakeholders clearly know about Vietnam SQE team and supplier quality performance.
Functional business management
Lead Vietnam SQEs to ensure the Vietnam supplier meet Medline quality requirements and goals and maintain the performance in mass production phase by- Maintain Vietnam supplier rating and optimize or update the rating system when necessary;
- Build supplier improvement plan after reviewing supplier performance with team members and monitor execution of the plan;
- Build the annual vigilance audit plan (focus on product and process control) and monitor execution;
- Lead team members to collaborate with suppliers on quality issues such as complaints and trends of defects, and ensure actions are taken timely and effectively;
- Lead team members to coordinate change requests from Vietnam suppliers from initiation to the end like assessing impact to product quality and QMS and implementing the change after approval;
- Lead team members to monitor the design transfer from product development to mass production, ensure the necessary information are documented and accessible for all the relevant functions;
- Work with QC/QA team to optimize product inspection criteria and improve the inspection efficiency;
- Train and develop the existing suppliers on quality awareness, including root cause analysis, quality tool utilization, process control…
Other work assigned by manager and as the backup for manager.

Skills Required
- People management of Supplier Quality Engineers (hiring, onboarding, performance, coaching)
- Experience ensuring suppliers meet quality requirements in mass production
- Ability to develop and execute supplier improvement plans and monitor execution
- Experience planning and conducting supplier/vigilance audits focused on product and process control
- Knowledge of change control/process for supplier change requests and assessing impact to QMS and product quality
- Experience with design transfer from development to mass production and documentation control
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (QC/QA, product development) to optimize inspection and controls
- Capability to train suppliers on root cause analysis, quality tools, and process control
