KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive company-wide continuous improvement program with the supply base, leveraging key elements of the existing Lean Production System.
- Leads Supplier Kaizen events to develop and implement supplier cost reduction projects.
- Acts as project manager for assigned projects/suppliers, using existing LZB project management tools, including management of APQP process for new supplied product and supplier changes.
- Develops and maintains the full business case for cost reduction projects, including all necessary information to accurately describe the extent and cost of the proposed changes.
- Ensures that all elements of the Supplier CI program are in alignment with Divisional and Corporate strategies.
- Supports the promotion and execution of value engineering workshops and brainstorming sessions with key stakeholders to develop a continual stream of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) / cost reduction ideas.
- Drive the adoption of key Lean elements with the supply base, such as 5S, Visual management, Cellular Manufacturing, Kan-ban pull systems, total productive maintenance (TPM), Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED)/quick changeover, and Standard Work.
- Leads development and implementation of vendor management policies and updates company wide
- Supports onboarding and training of new global team members
- Leads periodic performance and strategic reviews with core suppliers.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
Supports suppliers across the Enterprise - Branded, England., Thailand, Joybird and other business as required. Global responsibility including travel. Project management of cost reduction projects worth as much as $10 million annually. Suppliers supported with spend of approximately $100 million annually.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain with 6-8 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Kaizen events
- Plan For Every Part (PFEP)
- Value Stream Maps (VSM) and methodologies
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Error Proofing (Poke yoke) methodologies
- Project management
- Strong background in Manufacturing, especially the furniture industry
- Business Intelligence Solution experience
- Up to 60 % travel with some International travel

- Six-Sigma Black Belt
