Summary:
Responsible for first-line direction of non-exempt employees involved in print production, bindery finishing, or shipping and receiving operations. Reviews production schedules, material and manpower resources. Assigns employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. Informs assigned employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules. Participate in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures. Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods and the like.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day supervision and direction to non-exempt manufacturing employees. • Review production schedules and assess material, equipment, and manpower requirements. • Assign and reassign employees to maximize production efficiency, quality, and output goals. • Communicate production expectations, priorities, and performance feedback to assigned employees. • Identify production, material, or workflow issues and coordinate with support teams to resolve schedule impacts. • Monitor work-in-process and finished goods to ensure quality standards are met. • Participate in establishing, evaluating, and improving operational methods and manufacturing processes. • Recommend changes to materials, equipment, tools, and procedures to improve safety, quality, and productivity. • Maintain accurate production reports, performance metrics, schedules, and operational documentation. • Ensure compliance with safety policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. • Support training, coaching, and development of employees to strengthen team performance. • Promote teamwork and clear communication across shifts and departments. • Keep production running smoothly with additional team tasks or operational support as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline OR comparable number of years of applicable work experience in a manufacturing or production environment. • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment. • 2 years of experience providing work direction, lead, or supervisory responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience supervising employees in print production, bindery, or distribution operations. • Working knowledge of production scheduling, workflow planning, and performance metrics. • Previous experience with Microsoft Office products or production reporting systems. • Ability to interpret production data, reports, and schedules. • Comfort with basic mathematics such as decimals, metric units, and dimensions.
