POSITION TITLE: Summer 2027 Intern - Sales Development, Nonprofit

OBJECTIVE:
This role is designed for a high-performing student interested in a career in software sales.
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This role serves as the entry-level role into a client-facing sales career at Salesforce and is designed to be your first look into how we sell Salesforce products. In this role, you will support a team of Sales/Business Development Representatives (SDR/BDR) for Nonprofit prospects and customers. 

Alongside your responsibilities, you will be trained in core competencies with the goal to build the skills of a client-facing, inbound Sales Development Representative (SDR). Successful Sales Interns are able to think critically and learn through coaching from their mentors, which helps them to build upon and improve their skills throughout their tenure in this role. After demonstrating the competencies necessary to successfully execute the role, we will work together to build a candidacy for the SDR role based upon your success in this program.
This role requires 4 days in the office a week.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inbound Qualification: Vet inbound leads from marketing campaigns, events, and website traffic using the Customer 360 platform.

  • Outbound Prospecting: Generate pipeline across multiple segments through cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement.

  • Partner Lead Management: Nurture and qualify Partner Leads (PLs) in collaboration with consulting partners to ensure a seamless sales funnel progression.

  • Sales Collaboration: Partner with SDRs and Sales Executives to drive interest,  and schedule discovery meetings.

  • Account Research: Identify key contacts within target accounts and develop personalized outreach strategies.

  • CRM Hygiene: Track all prospecting activities within Salesforce to ensure timely follow-ups and accurate lead conversion data.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Junior/rising Senior graduating May 2028, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Business /Information Systems or equivalent. 

  • Strong academic background and performance

  • Preferred prior working experience (can include part-time or over school breaks)

  • Strong communication, networking, and presenting skills

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision whilst producing tangible results

  • Adaptable to change and enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Strategic thinker with a bias toward action

  • Team player with a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver excellence

  • Able to work with collaboration tools: Slack, Google Suite, Salesforce technologies knowledge a plus

  • Long-term interest in a Software Sales role.

  • Passion for technology - learning new domains and specialized areas. You don’t have to be a Salesforce expert, but you should be willing to learn about our product, our sales process, and the tools/methodologies Sales need to excel.

The typical base salary range for this position is $28 - $32 per hour. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
