In this role, you will join the Strategy & Market Intelligence team of the Business Line (BL) Medium-Voltage (MV) Switchgear (belonging to the Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) Division), reporting to the Strategy Manager. You will have the opportunity to work together with experienced members of the team, working most of the time in a project setup typically including a Project Lead and other team members of our BL and other ABB entities.
You will support strategy definition, strategy execution, and business intelligence activities for a leading global BL.
Each day, you will assess potential growth opportunities, gather market intelligence—including pricing and competitive intelligence—and perform market and financial modeling to support strategic efforts across the BL. You will also support senior stakeholder decision-making by synthesizing and documenting your work for the BL leadership.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Collecting and analyzing information to frame and evaluate potential growth opportunities
Performing competitive analysis (product offering, financial performance, market positioning, etc.)
Driving financial modeling (growth, cost/profitability) to support the definition of business cases for individual opportunities as well as the overarching strategic plan for the Business Line
Running pricing intelligence in strong cooperation with Sales
Supporting strategic project execution and other deliverables, such as the preparation of BL leadership meetings and strategy workshops
Prior experience in Strategy or Financial or similar analyst role (1–2 years)
Strong analytical skills, team player at heart
Ability to structure and drive market intelligence and market modeling activities with limited guidance
Solid understanding of financial data and evaluation
Familiarity and interest in the energy and/or power markets; knowledge of medium-voltage and/or switchgear market is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and PowerBI
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Highly motivated, results-oriented, and willing to learn quickly
You will work in a global Business Line at the core of the electrification industry, contributing directly to strategic decision-making and market insights shaping the future of the MV Switchgear business.

The Business Line (BL) Medium-Voltage (MV) Switchgear is in the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division and offers a wide range of air-insulated and gas-insulated medium voltage switchgear solutions (1 to 66 kV) for primary and secondary distribution to suit every application—for all customers, from system integrators to end users. Our go-to-market offers segment-specific products and solutions that largely serve utilities, industry, and infrastructure (including data centers), among others, often providing the required medium-voltage link between high-voltage transmission systems and low-voltage users.
