Reports to: Procurement Manager / Director of Procurement - Electrical Category

                   

Position Objective/DUTIES:

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist you will develop and lead sourcing strategies for Americas Direct Material Electrical commodities in a global environment. Your strategies will support key supply chain initiatives including cost containment, regionalization, trade working capital improvement, on time delivery, and quality performance. Clear communication to large cross‑functional groups is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that enhance supply assurance and flexibility.

  • Lead cost containment and inflation forecasting for current and future years.

  • Establish goals to improve working capital, including optimized payment terms, reduced inventory, and shorter lead times.

  • Build capacity plans and regionalization roadmaps for all components within the commodity.

  • Negotiate and execute supplier agreements that support commercial and operational objectives.

  • Conduct electronic sourcing events (RFQs, e‑auctions).

  • Partner with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance, including PPM reduction and corrective actions.

  • Communicate effectively across the organization—leading meetings, presenting strategy, and demonstrating professionalism and strong core competencies.

Required EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related functions.

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in commodity management or sourcing specific categories.

  • Strong project management capability with a track record of timely execution.

  • Ability to evaluate processes and recommend improvements.

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and data analysis tools.

Preferred EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • Five (5)+ years of procurement or sourcing experience.

  • Experience developing and sourcing suppliers for electrical components.

  • Prior responsibility for managing a commodity, leading a project team, or owning a category strategy.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.

  • Familiarity with DDSC / Perfect Execution methodologies.

Hybrid Work Arrangement

This position can be based in either St. Louis, MO or Sidney, OH. Candidates should expect to work onsite regularly to build relationships with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and supplier stakeholders. Following onboarding and business acclimation, a hybrid schedule may be available in accordance with company policy, typically allowing up to two days per week remote work.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
