GEICO's Legal Operations team is seeking a Strategic Communications Coordinator to drive our reporting and advocacy initiatives. This role supports the Legal Department’s mission by developing compelling materials for both internal and external stakeholders while working closely on behalf of the Legal Department with teams across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:

Create and manage executive-level presentations, analyses, and reports for key stakeholders, including C-suite leadership, translating complex regulatory and legislative matters into clear, actionable insights.

Design and implement efficient reporting systems and templates to streamline recurring obligations.

Draft advocacy materials including position papers, talking points, testimony, and regulatory submissions.

Lead the development and maintenance of digital repositories for advocacy materials and regulatory filings.

Build and maintain strong relationships across the company, including with Corporate Communications to support informed advocacy and risk assessment.

Provide strategic counsel to Government & Regulatory Affairs leadership on messaging and reporting approaches.

Develop tools and processes to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness in regulatory and legislative advocacy.
Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 5-7 years of demonstrate success in regulatory/legislative/communications role or related fields

Exceptional writing and presentation skills with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences

Demonstrated experience in synthesizing complex information into clear, persuasive narratives

Strong project management skills and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Collaborative approach and team-oriented mindset

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.

Property/casualty insurance experience and knowledge of auto insurance laws and regulations a plus.

Experience working with regulatory agencies or legislative bodies preferred.
Location: Hybrid – The individual will be required to work three days a week onsite in the Chevy Chase, MD office.

Annual Salary
$103,000.00 - $161,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
