About the role

This is a dual-function role that supports the smooth operation and presentation of our remote village sites. Working on a 14/7 FIFO roster from Perth, you will alternate between one week supporting stores operations and one week maintaining village grounds and outdoor facilities.

As a Stores & Grounds Person, you will be responsible for receiving, storing and distributing stock, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting village departments, and ensuring outdoor areas are presented to a high standard. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents and guests.

 

Key Responsibilities

Stores Operations

  • Receive deliveries and verify stock against manifests and delivery documentation.
  • Safely unload, store and distribute stock to relevant departments.
  • Maintain stock rotation processes and minimise wastage.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management of replenishment requirements.
  • Assist with stocktakes and inventory control activities.
  • Complete inventory data entry and administrative documentation.
  • Process invoices and purchase orders in relevant inventory management systems.
  • Maintain clean, safe and organised storage, receival and work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental and workplace safety standards.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to residents, guests and village stakeholders.

Grounds Maintenance

  • Ensuring all outdoor areas are clean, tidy, and well-presented.
  • Collecting litter and removing debris/leaves from grounds and common areas.
  • Maintaining outdoor furniture, BBQ areas, and recreational spaces.
  • Cleaning pathways, car parks, and external building surrounds.
  • Dust suppression around accommodation areas.
  • Maintaining village entry statements and landscaping.
  • Assisting with cyclone preparation and recovery activities.
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation to improve resident experience and satisfaction.

Waste Management

  • Emptying external bins and waste stations.
  • Assisting with rubbish collection and disposal processes.
  • Managing recycling areas and ensuring waste segregation standards are met.

Safety & Compliance

  • Conducting routine inspections to identify hazards.
  • Reporting maintenance issues, damaged infrastructure, and safety concerns.
  • Ensuring pathways, stairways, and outdoor areas remain safe and accessible.
  • Following site safety procedures, permit requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Applying safe work practices and contributing positively to site safety culture.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

General Village Support

  • Assisting with room furniture moves and village set-ups.
  • Supporting accommodation duties as required.
  • Assisting during village events, inspections and audits.
  • Supporting other village departments as required to meet operational needs.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Operating and maintaining equipment such as: 
    • Blowers
    • Hedge trimmers
    • Bin trailer
    • Utility vehicles/Buggy (licensed)
  • Conducting pre-start checks and reporting defects.

 

About You

  • Experience in stores, warehousing, logistics or inventory control.
  • Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance or similar outdoor maintenance roles.
  • Current LF or LO Forklift Licence preferred.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to work outdoors in remote and varying weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Good computer skills and experience using inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Australian working rights.
