Administer, support and optimize multi-vendor enterprise storage and backup platforms (Dell, IBM, Pure, Huawei). Act as senior escalation, maintain runbooks, participate in on-call rotation, and coordinate with OS, VMware, database teams and vendors.

About this opportunity:
We are looking for a Storage and Backup Expert responsible for administering, supporting and maintaining enterprise storage and data protection platforms to ensure high availability, performance, security and recoverability of business-critical systems. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle management across multi-vendor storage and backup technologies.
What you will do:
Storage Administration
  • Administer and support enterprise storage platforms including DELL Storage systems (VMAX, PowerMax, Unity, NAS and Elastic Cloud Storage - ECS).
  • Manage and support IBM Flash Storage, IBM Elastic Storage System (ESS), Pure Storage and Huawei OceanStor environments.
  • Perform storage provisioning, zoning, masking, capacity management and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor storage health and proactively resolve performance, availability and capacity issues to meet SLAs.
  • Execute storage migrations, upgrades, firmware updates and patching activities.
  • Support replication, snapshots and disaster recovery operations per defined procedures.

Backup & Data Protection
  • Administer enterprise backup solutions using DELL EMC NetWorker, PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Data Domain.
  • Manage backup jobs, schedules, retention policies and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor backup operations, troubleshoot failures and ensure completion within backup windows.
  • Perform restore requests, recovery testing and disaster recovery support activities.
  • Ensure backup and recovery operations meet defined RPO/RTO objectives.

Operations & Support
  • Act as senior escalation point for storage and backup incidents, problems and service requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in on-call support for 24x7 production environments as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support, case management and issue resolution.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
  • Work closely with UNIX/Linux, Windows, VMware, Cloud and Application teams for storage and backup activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on operational status, incidents and risk areas.
  • Identify and escalate operational risks and ensure tracking to closure.

What you will bring:
  • Hands-on experience with DELL Storage (VMAX, PowerMax, Unity, NAS, ECS), IBM Flash Storage, IBM ESS, Pure Storage and Huawei OceanStor.
  • Expertise in DELL EMC NetWorker, PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Data Domain.
  • Solid understanding of SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing and storage networking.
  • Experience supporting storage for VMware, UNIX/Linux and database environments.
  • Knowledge of replication, snapshots and DR operations.

Qualifications:
  • BSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in Storage and Backup Administration in enterprise environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure production issues.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and ownership-driven approach.
