How you will contribute
You will:
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the accounting team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of financial processes and procedures;
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with local accounting standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance;
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to maintain accurate financial records;
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting and tax regulations in Kazakhstan and ensure necessary updates and adaptations to internal policies and procedures;
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth and successful audits, providing required financial information and resolving any identified issues or discrepancies;
  • Reconciles sub-ledgers to general ledger and performs other related account reconciliations; evaluates accounts for legitimacy and balance substantiation.
  • Defines new general ledger accounts and ensures proper maintenance of the organization's chart of accounts.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls, including segregation of duties, to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or misappropriation;
  • Identifies potential compliance issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, and consultants, ensuring effective communication, cooperation, and compliance;
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a high level of performance and engagement;
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial and accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.

  • At least 3 years of work experience in accounting or audit
  • Knowledge of tax legislation and International Accounting Standards
  • Deep knowledge of statutory accounting and tax regulations
  • IFRS reporting experience
  • Ability to work with big data, being attentive to details and figures
  • Strong analytical skills

Education / Certifications:
  • Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Technical or Mathematics

Job specific requirements:
  • Professional qualification and accreditations (ACCA, CPA, CFA, ADIT, ACA or DipIFR) preferred
  • Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, SAP, Bank-Client)
  • English (Intermediate)
