The Nursing Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining appropriate nursing staffing coverage across patient care areas to support safe, efficient, and effective patient care. The Staffing Coordinator works collaboratively with Nursing Administration, Nurse Directors, Nurse Managers, Nursing Supervisors, and frontline staff to address daily and future staffing needs while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, approved staffing plans, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The Staffing Coordinator serves as a central point of communication for staffing-related matters and is responsible for accurately maintaining staffing schedules, identifying staffing vacancies, facilitating coverage, documenting staffing changes, and escalating unresolved staffing concerns to Nursing Administration.
Preferred QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, human resources, nursing, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, nursing administration, hospital operations, or a related healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience working in a hospital or nursing department strongly preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with electronic scheduling, staffing, payroll, or workforce-management systems preferred.
