At Qualtrics, we create software the world’s best brands use to deliver exceptional experiences, build high-performing teams, and design products people love. We are the creators and stewards of the Experience Management category serving over 18K clients globally. Building a category takes grit, determination, and a disdain for convention, and most of all it requires close-knit, high-functioning teams with an unwavering dedication to serving our customers.
When you join this team, you won’t just be designing interfaces or delivering on features, you’ll be building the agentic layer that powers our platform. We operate with a "builder-first" mentality where design and development converge. You’ll be empowered to move fast, take strategic risks, and solve complex AI challenges by prototyping directly in code. If you are an AI-fluent designer who wants to bridge the gap between human experience and functional code to impact 18K+ global clients, join us to move beyond static mockups and ship the future of AI-driven enterprise software.
Staff UX Designer - AI
Why We Have This Role
We’re hiring for an AI UX Designer to bridge the gap between design and development by delivering functional code, not just static mockups. You’ll be deeply embedded in our product teams, leveraging advanced AI tooling to accelerate design workflows and prototype intelligent experiences that push the boundaries of what our platform can do. Your work directly impacts how our users interact with our AI-driven features, ensuring intuitive, high-quality experiences. You’ll partner closely with engineering and product management to prototype, test, and ship complex AI-powered solutions that bring real value to our customers.
How You’ll Find Success
- AI-Driven Prototyping: Deep fluency in using AI-powered tools to accelerate design workflows, rapidly prototyping and iterating on intelligent experiences.
- Code-First Design: Delivering coded prototypes (e.g., React/TypeScript) using our agentic design system to bring designs to life, ensuring designs are not just static, but ready for implementation and testing. If you’re new to this, we’ll help you learn and upskill.
- Systems Thinking: Ability to design scalable and agentic design systems that function across complex, data-heavy AI features, prioritizing long-term usability.
- Entrepreneurial Execution: Takes initiative to define the "how" in ambiguous spaces, deeply understanding the expected outcome and working independently to get it done.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Highly communicative, building trust and aligning engineering and product teams to move complex AI solutions from concept to shipping.
- Adaptive Curiosity: A relentless drive to stay ahead of the evolving AI landscape, proactively testing new technologies to push the boundaries of what our platform can achieve.
How You’ll Grow
- Master AI-Native Architecture: You will move beyond interface design to understand the full stack of agentic workflows, RAG, and model orchestration, positioning yourself at the forefront of AI product architecture.
- Bridge the Engineering/Design Divide: You’ll gain deep technical competency in React/TypeScript, working so closely with engineering that the line between "designer" and "front-end engineer" dissolves, significantly increasing your scope of impact.
- Influence the Platform Evolution: Because you are building the "agentic layer" for our 18K+ clients, your work won't just be an isolated feature—it will set the patterns and primitives for the entire Qualtrics product organization. This includes our agentic design system, ontologies,
- Data-Driven Mastery: You will transition from subjective design to eval-driven craft, learning how to use performance data and real-world user interactions to scientifically improve the AI experiences you ship.
Things You’ll Do
- Accelerate AI-driven prototyping: Leverage advanced AI tooling to rapidly iterate on intelligent experiences, reducing time from concept to high-fidelity prototype.
- Bridge the gap between design and development: Deliver functional, production-ready code directly into our QDS 3.0 pipeline, allowing engineering teams to focus on complex backend integration rather than UI implementation.
- Influence product strategy: Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype complex AI interactions, ensuring our product features provide intuitive and meaningful user value.
- Champion AI-first design patterns: Proactively test and integrate new generative design technologies to push the boundaries of our platform, setting the standard for "agentic" interfaces at Qualtrics.
- Drive system quality and consistency: Partner with the Core AI team to refine our agentic pipeline gates, ensuring all AI-authored code meets our strict performance, accessibility, and security standards.
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
- Demonstrated experience designing complex interfaces where AI/ML is a core feature, rather than an add-on.
- Proven ability or strong potential to translate design concepts into coded prototypes (e.g., React/TypeScript) to bridge the gap between design and implementation.
- History of using AI tooling or LLM-integrated workflows to accelerate design-to-development cycles and improve efficiency.
- A portfolio showcasing intelligent, agentic user experiences that demonstrate systems thinking in data-heavy environments.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering teams to ship features, moving beyond static deliverables to active, collaborative code contribution.
What You Should Know About This Team
- Defining the Agentic Standard: You’ll be building the foundational agentic layer for all of Qualtrics, not just working on isolated features. We create the patterns, primitives, and tools that the rest of the product org uses to build intelligent experiences.
- Design as Engineering: We operate in a "builder-first" culture. We don’t just deliver static mockups—we design, prototype, and implement directly in code. You’ll be working alongside engineers to push the boundaries of what our product can achieve.
- Eval-Driven Craft: We’re moving beyond subjective design. Our work is grounded in eval-driven development, where data and real-world interactions inform every decision, ensuring we ship experiences that truly drive customer outcomes.
- AI-Native Growth: This is the hub of AI experimentation at Qualtrics. You’ll be surrounded by experts in model management, RAG, and AI infrastructure, ensuring you stay at the forefront of the evolving AI landscape.
Why you’ll want to join us:
Most design teams are talking about AI; we are the ones building the engine that powers it. If you want to bridge the gap between design and development, thrive in high-autonomy environments, and see your code directly power intelligent experiences for 18K+ global clients, this is the place to be. We don’t just design the future—we code it, test it, and ship it.
