Overview:   The Staff Software QA Engineer works with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services, has the ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to design, build, and operate innovative platforms ensuring quality across the SDLC.
2. Analyze complex functional and non-functional requirements (FR/NFR) and define comprehensive test strategies, plans, and objectives.
3. Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases for web, API, and backend systems using tools like Selenium and Playwright.
4. Perform end-to-end testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, System, UAT, and ensure data validation across SQL/Snowflake databases and stored procedures.
5. Implement automation frameworks and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and coverage
6. Conduct API testing and performance/load testing using JMeter, analyzing results to optimize system scalability and stability.
7. Test applications deployed on AWS/Azure environments, validating compatibility, scalability, and security in cloud-based architectures.
8. Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Azure DevOps, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
9. Ensure compliance with QA standards, best practices, and security guidelines, maintaining clear documentation and reporting on test coverage and results.
10. Mentor junior QA engineers, enforce best practices, and contribute to process improvements and test automation strategies.
11. Troubleshoot complex system-level issues, drive root cause analysis, and recommend solutions for performance and reliability.
12. Stay current with emerging QA tools, technologies, and methodologies, applying Agile principles to deliver continuous value and scalability.
Job Requirements:
1. Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in Software Quality Assurance for enterprise-scale applications, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or staff-level role.
2. Advanced proficiency in Selenium and Playwright for automated UI and functional testing.
3. Proven ability to design and implement automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for large-scale systems.
4. Deep experience in API testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks, ensuring robust coverage and reliability.
5. Strong experience testing Angular and Aurelia applications, including complex UI workflows
6. Expert-level knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, and stored procedures.
7. Ability to validate data integrity, optimize queries, and troubleshoot backend data issues.
8. Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure environments, including testing for scalability, security, and performance in cloud-based architectures.
9. Proficiency in JMeter for performance and load testing, including analysis, bottleneck identification, and optimization strategies.
10. Ability to analyze complex functional and non-functional requirements (FR/NFR) and define enterprise-level test strategies.
11. Develop and maintain test plans, automation scripts, and quality metrics aligned with business objectives.
12. In-depth experience in Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
13. Strong ability to partner with engineering teams, product managers, architects, and DevOps to ensure quality across the SDLC.
14. Proven track record of mentoring QA engineers, driving best practices, and influencing quality initiatives across teams.
15. Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Agile methodologies, and modern QA best practices.
16. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.
