About VSCO
For years, we've helped photographers create their work. Now we're building what comes next.
VSCO exists for photographers. Not as a side feature, not as an afterthought, but as the whole point. We build the connected system photographers rely on, and we've spent over a decade earning the trust of a global creative community that takes the craft seriously.
Photography is at an inflection point. AI is reshaping what's possible for creative work, and that's where our mission shines. VSCO is building the full photographer's workflow: from creating and editing your work, to delivering it to clients, to running your business. All of it built thoughtfully, with photographers leading the way. We believe the future of photography tools creates more space for creativity, handling the busy work so photographers can focus on the craft.
If you care about craft, community, and what technology can unlock for creative people, this is the work. We're a mission-driven and focused company where your work ships quickly, is meaningful, and reaches tens of millions of people worldwide. You'll have a real say in what we build and how we build it. We hire people who don't wait to be asked, naturally connect the dots, care about the quality of what they ship, and believe the best outcomes come from building together.
About the RoleWe're looking for a Staff Product Designer to lead high-impact design initiatives across our creative tool suite. You'll own products end-to-end, from strategy and problem framing through interaction design, visual craft, and delivery. This is a product-defining role where you'll be a primary design voice, working closely with product, engineering, and data to shape the roadmap, define what gets built, and drive measurable outcomes.
This team ships a lot of meaningful work, fast. We design for one of the world's most passionate creative audiences and we're leaning hard into AI-native design — building agentic and generative AI experiences that are genuinely new territory. If you're looking for a role where design has a real voice in company strategy and you get to work on cutting-edge AI features for creative professionals, this is it.
What You’ll Do- Lead design strategy and execution across our creative tool suite, owning initiatives from 0 to1 through iterative delivery.
- Shape AI-powered product experiences, including agentic and generative AI features, from interaction patterns and agent behavior through to polished UI.
- Work with your squad (PM, design, and engineering) to shape product direction, drive cross-functional alignment, and push back on constraints with clear rationale.
- Communicate design direction to senior leadership and drive alignment across functions.
- Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude, v0) for speed and exploration; return to Figma for craft refinement.
- Mentor other designers on product thinking, interaction principles, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Act as a thought partner to product, asking hard questions early and challenging assumptions before jumping to solutions.
- 8+ years of product design experience, including 0→1 work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Curiosity about AI-native design: you're open to learning and experimenting with tools like Cursor, Claude, and v0 as part of how you design and prototype. You don't need to be an expert — you need to be genuinely excited to lean in.
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with a high bar for craft at every stage of delivery.
- Strong portfolio showing strategic product thinking alongside polished, shipped work across mobile and web.
- Strong systems thinking: you design scalable patterns and think about how decisions ripple across surfaces.
- Track record of influencing product roadmap and tying design decisions to business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, you influence and align through clarity, not just charisma.
