Role Summary:
This role is part of the global Order Engineering team responsible for preparing job related customer and manufacturing drawings, generating and managing item masters and Engineering Bills of Material (eBOM) to support customer orders. This position will coordinate closely with the Engineering Business unit teams of FPD and S&S to prioritize the work with the business objectives and strategic initiatives of the operations.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Oversee the creation of customer and production drawings, and other technical documentation required to release order to production by GTEC-Bangalore.
Complete bill of material variations for “Assembly to order & Manufacture to order” products.
Provide interface/support for internal functions by providing technical guidance and clarifying project requirements.
Prepare and release instructions, routing cards and other documentation to business unit operations.
Maintain and create item masters.
Prepare advanced procurement notices.
Meet project milestones for engineering deliverables.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Completed university degree in mechanical engineering or comparable.
Ideally several years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
Experience within the rotating equipment industry or comparable.
Basic knowledge of ERP, PLM and CAD (preferred SolidWorks).
Understanding of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Knowledge of internal and international practices & standards.
Basic knowledge of information technology tools including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply technology to creatively solve problems that meet business and stakeholder needs.
Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 15%) if any.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams with culturally diverse membership.
Ability to work without close supervision and accomplish assignments of high quality and on time.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
