Job Summary:
The Principal Test & Validation Engineer is a subject matter expert who leverages advanced knowledge to lead the validation strategy for Allegro's most complex and strategic products. This role is critical in driving technical excellence and innovation in how we ensure product quality and reliability. As a recognized expert, the Principal Engineer provides technical guidance across multiple projects and makes substantial contributions to our test technology and methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drives validation innovation by solving complex test challenges that require in-depth analysis and the creative application of advanced engineering principles.
- Leads the validation strategy for a new product family or technology, taking ownership of the overall test plan, automation architecture, and risk assessment.
- Elevates the team's capabilities by acting as a technical leader and resource, providing guidance and mentorship on advanced test techniques and failure analysis.
- Ensures the technical success of product launches by working with wide latitude for independent judgment and accountability for validation integrity.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience.
- Advanced, in-depth knowledge of semiconductor validation, reliability physics, and test automation architecture.
- Proven track record of leading the validation of complex SoCs and solving challenging test and characterization problems.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to guide technical teams and influence test strategy.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex validation data to a variety of audiences.
