Staff Engineer – Hardware Engineering Strategist

We are seeking a senior engineering professional with strong experience across the hardware product development lifecycle and exposure to a wide range of engineering tools and ecosystems used in the industry. 

This role will evaluate engineering toolchains, assess new technologies, and drive the adoption of solutions that improve collaboration, traceability, workflow efficiency, and design reuse across engineering teams. The successful candidate will work closely with hardware, software, systems, quality, manufacturing, and IT teams to build a more connected and efficient engineering ecosystem. 

This is not a product design role. The primary responsibility is to leverage deep hardware development knowledge and industry experience to improve engineering processes, tools, integrations, and overall engineering effectiveness. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Strong understanding of the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including Requirements Management, System Architecture, Design, Simulation, Verification, Compliance, Manufacturing, Product Release, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). 

• Extensive knowledge of industry-leading engineering tools and platforms like Altium, A365, Cadence, Siemens Xpedition, Ansys, MATLAB/Simulink, Teamcenter, Windchill, Jira, Git, and related engineering collaboration solutions. 

• Analyze engineering workflows to identify process gaps, tool limitations, data silos, manual handoffs, and opportunities to improve productivity, quality, traceability, and engineering efficiency. 

• Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to understand engineering challenges and define ecosystem requirements. 

• Evaluate, recommend, and drive adoption of engineering tools, technologies, and workspace capabilities that enhance collaboration, integration, and lifecycle visibility. 

• Champion engineering best practices, design reuse, traceability, standardization, and scalable development methodologies across the organization. 

• Lead initiatives focused on tool integration, workflow automation, digital engineering, and AI-enabled engineering solutions. 

• Support the development of engineering workspaces, governance models, data management strategies, and lifecycle processes that enable a connected engineering ecosystem. 

• Benchmark engineering ecosystems, tools, and industry practices to identify opportunities for modernization and continuous improvement. 

• Contribute to engineering technology roadmaps and future ecosystem strategies through strong lifecycle, tooling, and industry knowledge. 

• Drive successful solution adoption through stakeholder engagement, training, documentation, user workshops, and engineering advocacy. 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering 

• 10+ years of experience in engineering organizations with strong exposure to the complete hardware product development lifecycle. 

• Hands-on experience working with industry-standard engineering tools and platforms such as Altium, Altium 365 (A365), Cadence, Siemens Xpedition, Ansys, MATLAB/Simulink, Teamcenter, Windchill, Jira, Git, and related engineering collaboration solutions. 

• Strong knowledge of engineering data management, configuration management, change control, traceability, design reuse, and lifecycle governance practices. 

• Understanding of engineering tool integrations, workflow automation, digital thread, digital engineering, and AI-enabled engineering capabilities. 

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills with the ability to drive organizational change and solution adoption. 

• Ability to lead workshops, training sessions, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional transformation programs.
