As a Staff Accountant at Neighborly, a typical day for you will include:

  • Perform monthly closing activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual schedules, variance analysis & commentary, financial statements, and reporting. 

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and Company policies and procedures. 

  • Assist management with financial statements review. 

  • Analyze financial information, reports (detailing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities), and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of cash flows, and other reports. 

  • Review and record sales contracts.  

  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations. 

  • Understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles. 

  • Prepare commissions and bonuses for the approval process. 

  • Prepare schedules, test samples, footnotes, and related disclosures in support of the external audit. 

  • Use software such as Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Dynamics, Great Plains, SAP Concur, and Northridge Loan Management Software.

(Required qualifications)

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent related experience is required. 

  • Intermediate-level knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) is required. 

  • Working knowledge of ERP/financial system.  

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting required 

  • Schedule / in-office requirements:

    • Hybrid working model; Monday-Wednesday in the office, Thursday/Friday from home.

    • Our office locations are:

      • 500 E John Carpenter Fwy, Irving, TX

      • 1010 N University Parks Drive, Waco, TX
